    ok

so tell me plain and simple, Bonzi just didn't fit!?

    thats bull

JVG wanted his own team, players who play by his rules even if it doesn't work!

he turned down few guys because he 'thought' they don't fit

thats crazy, the management gets you the best players they can get and basically you spit them right in the face...I could bet CD wasn't pleased with what JVG did

At most the rockets can offer Bonzi is the MLE.

For MLE, you get a guy, Bonzi in this case, i believe, fat or thin, still capable of putting 12pts and 5 rebs given minutes. Do you think Bonzi worth the MLE or not? If not, who do you think rockets able to sign with the MLE which can put the number 12/5? Grant Hill?

I like Bonzi as a player but just worried he will screw up the rockets' chemistry.... :(

now adelman is the coach, Yao will play more high post so bonzi can park his ass in the paint and score on smaller guards, :p

why do ppl think he's gonna use yao like divac/miller? adelman ain't stupid. if anything yao will be closer to the basket more than ever. but now u will have more cuts to the basket/rotations around yao so he has more lanes to pass.

he aint gonna be at the free throw line or 15 ft dude.

I really think he is not going to accept the offer. If he does, it would be a good sign of a guy willing to play ball and do everything else to fit the team. He should not have any problems under Adelman

Please do opt out, Bonzi, so we can sign you for what you're worth: Less.

It may have been a different story if Bonzi had been in shape. But, 6-5 post up guards who aren't particularly good shooters aren't very much use to any team if they're not in shape.

Bonzi has no hard feelings for Van Gundy. Neither should you. The overreactionary, "JVG kills puppies!" bit is old.

    Oh PUH-leeze.

Bonzi's goal now = get the full MLE from whatever team he can.

He wouldn't care if he screwed the rox over twice. In fact, I'm sure he'd be laughing his ass off over it.

Now, if he wants to come back at the contract he already has ... then fine. But he hasn't proven himself to be a MLE player for us.

OK, I'll try to explain this in crayon. Bonzi did not want to play here because the Rockets could not offer him the money he pissed away when he turned down Sac's generous contract offer in the mistaken belief that he could get more in the free agent market (Whoops!). But the free agent market bonanza poor Bouncy err Bonzi was counting on failed to materialize (bye-bye $34 million, hello $2.5 million MLE) and poor Bouncy err Bonzi was left with only the measly $2.5 million Houston offer (Boo-Hoo!).

At the press conference announcing his signing, he stated point blank that he would NOT be exercising his option for the 2nd year. It would appear that this slipped by most folks particularly those in this thread because they were too busy drinking Rockets' red koolaid at the time. The only reason he came to Houston was because he had nowhere else to go. We got nothing from him as a player because he didn't put out anything as a player because HE DID NOT WANT TO BE HERE.

Now if you guys have managed to keep up, this is the part where it gets sticky. You see Donuts, err Bonzi and his agent both realize that what he didn't do in Houston might discourage another sucker err NBA GM, to refrain from giving Bozo err Bonzi the millions of dollars he rightfully deserves. So you get the article in question because Bonzi and his agent are both hoping that Barnum was right and that there is a sucker err NBA GM out there who is as gullible as the people in this thread who are blaming JVG for Bobo err Bonzi not wanting to play here in the first place. Come to think of it, Bouncy & his agent may just be on to something there...

I can't wait to see the "Mike Bibby turns down $13.5 million just so he can play for his old coach Rick Adelman one more time" threads that are sure to pop up after tomorrow's BS session err Important Press Conference...

I do, if it's for the 2 m and if he is in better shape.

For the mle? heck no. I still think Mikki Moore is a good fit and we should use it on him, if possible. But I guess a lot depends on which position we get in the draft.

Bonzi has to play his ass off (literally) next season with us if he wants to get a bigger contract -- after this season I don't think any team will gamble on him.
