Yes, which is why TE's are only useful in certain situations. Which is why we've only used TE's a couple times to get players (like Mike James the first time around).
if Von thinks he's worth more than 3.5 mil a year prepare to not get a deal. I love his game so I'll give him a chace if he walks back with his tail between his legs.
They actually get used more than would be obvious. Although Francis, Mobley and Cato worked straight up capwise for Grady, Howard and Gaines, the trade was structured as such that the Rockets actually received a minor TE. And IIRC, it was that TE that allowed them to take Mike James' salary when he actually made more than Gaines.
I lost interest in Von Wafer during the Laker's series. I dont like players who can be taken out of their game by mind games. Sasha absolutely shut him down by getting on his nerves. I kept waiting for Wafer to respond but he showed me nothing. Mentally weak players having no interest in playing defense, and a whole lotta interest interest in chucking up shots should be avoided.
This pretty much sums it all up. I like Wafer's shooting ability, but give me Budinger and Taylor making less than a million each over Wafer.
I certainly am not one to care. The way this guy gets his points is so sloppy it's almost as if it were luck. The shooting stroke is hilariously frustrating. I know he produced for the Rockets but I'm not sold.
That scoop was apparently incorrect. First, it would have been a violation to make that offer before free agency. Second, Von's agent says the Rockets never made an offer.
somebody explain this to me this quote please And Wafer's agent, Mitchell Butler, in an interview with FOX 26 Sports Friday, said his client would not accept a minimum contract from the Rockets. "There's no way," Butler said. "A minimum contract, even though he knows the system and everything else, I think it would be really a slap in the kid's face that they didn't even make an offer to begin with, and there are several teams (who) would lay and wait to get him on a minimum contract that I think would appreciate what he has brought to the table a little more than what the Rockets demonstrated through the beginning of free agency." did he just said the he would welcome a minimun contract from other team but from the rockets not
second round draft picks that have never played in the NBA are not replacements for a rotation player. and Ariza and Von can be on the floor at the same time. we need offense.
offseason Lose Yao Lose Artest Lose Von Get Ariza Get 2 unproven rookies Don't think that's a successful offseason. We have no money so anything has to be done by trade, we'll see but we may be done with any more player moves.
Think of Von as the dollar-store version of Trevor Ariza, who was insulted by the Lakers MLE offer but would-- and DID-- accept the same money from the Rockets.
Von is very athletic, has a good outside shot, can create and can get to the basket. I'd love to see him run and gun with AB and Ariza.
