    JFV coached 7 yrs (2 partial yrs) from 95-02.
    For 4 yrs, from 95-99, the 2 conferences are comparable in strength.
    In the 96-97 season, the E actually had 6 teams with 50+ wins, the W had 4.
    Of course, Chi won in 96, 97, 98.

    From 99 to now, the West slowly becomes stronger each year but maybe the last 2 years really showed its dominance.

    To say JVG only coached a team in the very weak East Conf. is a myth.

    It's also a myth that assumes he does not know how or will have trouble playing a Western team. It is not like he came from China ! :)
    His Knicks team did play twice a year against each team from the W and had a very decent record.

    Nothing you heard convinced u of Jeff?
    Nothing I'd heard (especially testimonies from the Knicks fans here) tells me he won't be a big success here.
