Thank God we didn't end up with Mike Dunleavy. I think I would stop being a Rockets fan. Atleast we got our 2nd top choice as head coach. Fox 26 better not be wrong. Well I guess coaches aren't that greedy compared to players becuase if they were Van Gundy would be in Washington D.C. intstead of Houston.

I hear what you're saying. Glad you're willing to put aside not seeing the logic in choosing him to give the guy a fair chance.

I completely agree that the coaching change was not handled well at all.

He's only under contract with the Knicks for another 2 months(through July 31 to be exact), so we likely won't have to shell out much, if anything at all.

Fox news at noon did an extended feature on VG. Included interviews with Moochie and Eddie (both said they were excited to get a coach who specializes in defense) and Othella Harrington (laughed about JVG's intensity, called it a great fit for Houston).

He's wrong. It's based on the soccer chant Ole, Ole, Ole. Actuallly it's IS the soccer chant with "Yao Ming" replacing "Ole."

Well not the entire song obviously, but the melody hook of the Yao Ming song is the same as the beginning hook in Yellow Submarine.. listen to it, you'll hear it :)

Not to take anything away from the Yao song.. I love it..

    YaoMINNNNG, YAOMINGYAOMINGYAOMinnnng...

edited: Mr. Clutch, could very well be so.. wouldn't doubt for a minute that John, Paul, Ringo and George were into the whole soccer thing.. this assumes the soccer chant was around before their song, which also wouldn't surprise me, but I have no idea, since I forgot to read my hardcover History of Soccer in England.. ;)

A year ago when Ming went to Chicago for his public workout, league first arranged JVG to be
the workout coach. He was later replaced by P.J.Calismo(?) because JVG was still Knick's man and other teams claimed that would give Knick favor on picking Ming. Now a year later, JVG became Rocket's new coach, and possibly Ming is going to be under his wing for the next 4 to 5 years. I am thinking maybe JVG is the chosen one!

Yeah it's that brazilian soccer song, I had this exact same argument with my father about "yellow submarine" last year, then we went to a game over christmaas and he heard it up close and agreed with me

Van Gundy is still under contract with New York through July 31. So we have to compensate them from June Umpteenth to July 31st? We should give them the "bird" and about threefitty.

And as far as the song goes, I bet Chance can clear that whole thing up for us real quick...
