There's no guarantee that Van Gundy will make this team better, but the thing that is guaranteed is the fact that Van Gundy will work hard. Probably harder than any other coach in the league. I think that's all you can really ask for in a coach. So if the Rockets do better than 43 wins next year, Van Gundy is not necessarily the reason. What would make you give the man his due? It's easy to criticize.

Van Gundy is perfect for our team because: A. He won't stand for selfish attitudes B. He will instill discipline and toughness C. Players can't ignore the system and do whatever they want D. He knows the game and will be more objective about the strengths and weaknesses of the team. E. He will move players I don't think he will make wholesale changes at first, but I think by year #2, several roster changes will be made. That's my opinion, no fact just opinion

Finally a well reasoned response - Cha Cha Cha. I hope he does great, but merely saw no logic in the selection. I will be elated to give JVG his due - but will not give him a free ride either. Cha Cha Cha If we avg. 80ppg this season - and do poorly - he will get the blame that's for certain. But... if we see a team with all the vaunted adjustments you refer to and we're clicking - he will get the credit as well. Time will tell, and as a huge Rocks fan l'll give him more than a fair chance. I still say we could have handled this coaching change far better than we did.
