Well I thought the offseason was looking pretty good and I was getting excited about the upcoming season, about the Texans again, especially with the prospect of getting Bush or Young. And then this happens.

It's not a sexy choice. But you're building a championship team afterall. If Williams helps to get us there, then this will all be moot.

Oh, yeah, and by the way, we also SIGNED a defensive end in free agency that plays THE SAME FREAKING SIDE as Williams. WTF???

This is true, but from what I know about Mario, he's only a pass rushing monster some of the time.

Can't believe we're taking him first.

I'm about to have a meltdown worse than Fegwu. I really wanted Bush.

I wasn't directing my post at you. (You seem sensible.) I was referring to the legion of RB fans who chastised Chance, DaDa, & Co. for threatening to stop being a Texans fan if the team didn't draft Young. Now Bush is suddenly out of the picture, and these same people want to defect as well. That, my friend, is hypocrisy.

I'm good with keeping Mario, but is it still possible that we could trade him? Just wondering what the cap/legal ramifications are.

As much as I wanted Bush (or Young), I am glad the team went all sensible and spent the pick addressing the line of scrimmage. Williams is a versatile player who should become the anchor of a championship defense.

Now let's see what they do with the other selections...

Technically Mario hasn't signed a deal yet right? The deal is just verbally agreed to correct? It doesn't seem like he would really be allowed to sign a deal until he has actually been drafted. Either way the Texans will have to follow through or they will set a bad precedent that they cannot be trusted.

Well, if nothing else, this makes tomorrow's draft far more exciting.

    1. Houston fans will boo like crazy tomorrow - that will be worth watching.

    2. What do the Saints do? They really wanted Mario Williams. Do they take Bush, when they already have a ton invested in Deuce McAllister? Do they trade? With who? Do they stay and pick someone else?

    3. If the last, what do the Titans do? Do they draft their QB, or what happens is Bush is still there?

All sorts of fun stuff in the first hour of the draft tomorrow.

After all the nonsense you've been talking the past couple months I think you need one.

i think williams will be a good player for us.

i think bush will be a great player for somebody else.

i just don't understand why we had to have the guy signed before the draft. it looks like that was the key issue. if we where close to a deal the other day as reported, why couldn't we get something done in the next few weeks?

i just hope we don't end up looking like fools when its all said and done.

He reached a verbal agreement right? Do they have to pick him? If they were going to do this they should have traded down.
