I think you misunderstood me. I was saying most of everyone complained that Bush WAS NOT and will never be a every down back and that is why he would be a bad pick or a bust. I didn't fully believe that but that was pretty much the consensus. I agree his playmaking ability would have been a HUGE addition to the team.

    But, I like the pick.

dude, how much football do you watch? very few DE's are over 300 pounds. you must be thinking of DTs, that's a totally different position

seriously, go to any sports site that has the official NFL rosters and player stats, and look up the weights of DEs, not DTs. well over 75% of them are under 300 lbs, especially ones in a 4-3 defense

I'm upset about the Texans taking Mario Williams, but if he turns into a Reggie White or LT player I would be estatic.

They said Reggie was trying to put on a good face but was obviously upset about the decision.

WTF??...I just heard. Is this the revenge of Caserly?

What does Caserly care if the Texans are getting better or not?...this is a joke pick, Bush is a superstar.

Even if your going to pick Williams, how does announcing it the night before the draft help you with last minute trade opportunities?...Caserly is a joke.

I honestly think they announced it tonight to prevent a full scale riot at the draft "party" tommorrow.

Can the Bush apologists stick to Bush.

It is one thing to mad and another to draw Vince's name into it. I see a lot of pro-Bush folks including not-draft Vince in their complaints.

can we stop this and stick to our camps? :D

I am elated - I just gave my wife 10 kisses in 10 seconds. This is the route to winning and winning consisttent. I felt lonely attimes because very very few wanted Williams and I am glad I am majority today.

Bring on mini and training camps.

Peyton Manning, Palmer and Leftwich YOU'VE GOT A PROBLEM!!!

Dude, relax & put away your value chart! The deed has been done! Now are you going to become a Jag, Titans, or Colts, or a Cowboy fan becuz of this decision? I'm glad your not a GM, hell, I woudn't be one either! Super Mario will be just as good or better than Bush (sexy pick) in the future & DE usually have a longer shelf life than RB's! Example: Reggie White, Bruce Smith, Lawrence Taylor, etc. Time will tell if he will become like these guys but, I'm confident. Quick, how many #1 pick running backs has ever won a championship? ;)

dwight freeney which many would think is one of the better DE in the league is only listed at 268 lbs...

    More reacts from Bush.

ESPN's Darren Rovell was at Reggie Bush's party for his being on the cover of NCAA College Football 2006 game tonight. He reported that at 8:55p Reggie disappeared into a room, where Im guessing he received the bad news. At the same moment he disappeared, ESPNNEWS broke the story of Williams deal with the Texans and it was seen by all party go-ers at that moment.

The room went from celebratory to dead calm in an instant.

Reggie emerged moments later, where he tried to put on a good face, but looked "very disappointed" and upset.

Funny thing, The MC at the event later addressed Bush as the future # 1 pick. Apparently he was unaware of what had gone down earlier that night.

Side note: Rovell said Reggie's agent thought the Texans were bluffing when he made the high offer for Reggie. Apparently they didnt believe the Texans were serious about Mario and he was being used as leverage.

And one more thing.....ESPN played an interview Rachel Nichols had with Casserly. According to Casserly, this wwas his and GARY KUBIAK'S decision to go with Super Mario at #1

Casserly, as we all know is a lame duck at this point. So it looks like this was Kubiaks call.

On the bright side, a hot redhead broke this story, better than staring at mel kiper on espn all night.

INJURY on the first game. Gosh, I don't hope BAD on anyone, but I am a Nostradamus, and it will happen.

I am not going to become a Cowboys fan, i have been one my entire life, i am starting to calm down now, but i am tired of arguing with some of these guys who have no knowledge of football, you dont spend this much money on an unproven defensive player, when so many other problems exist. I'm done.

First or all id like to say although my first choice was to pick reggie and if not him at least vince, i would have to say i am satisfied with this pick because to me it isnt bad at all. In fact the more i think about it i start to like it even more and more (call me crazy but yes i will explain).

What i see is a smart move by the texans because the way i see it is our goal is to....WIN A SUPER BOWL. And yes it is what every franchises goal should be. And before the super bowl we must make the playoffs.

So here we go, take a look at our division, every season without a doubt colts are always a lock at being numebr one in our division therefore making the playoffs every year. We lose every time due to their great offense. Everytime we play them we lose, but there have been a couple of games that i can remember that we couldve won due to our defense. We put so much pressure on peyton manning that i remember some football analysts saying and showing clips of our defense that game using it to show how to play, and win against the colts. What im tryign to say is that picking mario williams was a good pick if you look at our division and see what we are trying to do.

Now some of you can say, yes we couldve won with our defense but how about all the games where our offense was so horrible (just about every game) and we couldve won if our offense just played OK. And some of you can say Reggie Bush wouldve have bolsted our offense up their with one of the best in the leagues. But think about it this way, our offense was horrible due to Oline, no 2nd reciever, TE sucked, etc. Whatever reason if you look at our offseason and what we have added yes our offense still isnt great but we have made alot of changes which makes our offense waaaaaay better than last year. And more than half of you said it wasnt the players that was the problem it was mainly the coaches and we have changed our coaching staff.

Yes we are passing up the best player in the draft, but really the draft is a "crapshoot" who's to REALLY say Bush and VY are going to be great nfl players, these days there are so many busts. With that said, Mario williams can be great, or a BIG MISTAKE. Either way unlike many of you, even if i am wrong i am sticking with this team and support their decision.

P.S. i think we should move up a couple of spots to grab another 1st roudn pick if we can draft a good CB, and in the second round draft eric winston. This will help us even more against the colts. Oh yeah if yall were even with me from the beginning of this post all of you might lose me here, but whatever im gonna say it, I WONT BE SURPRISED IF WE MAKE THE PLAYOFFS NEXT YEAR because i see it as a possibilty.

Without further ado WELCOME TO HOUSTON MARIO WILLIAMS.
