Poor guy. What makes it worse is that he tried to draw a charge instead of blocking the dunk. His name will forever be the answer to the trivial question: Who is the victim of the most spectacular dunk in the history of basketball?

Did we really make a deal with the Knicks? If Morey is involved.. you know the Knicks got raped somehow even though it's not as apparent.

Just curious, since this is a pure roster management/salary cut move, could we have just given Ewing Jr away to the Knicks? Why did we even bother getting the rights to Weis? Is there like a 1% chance he'll somehow blossom in his relatively old age? Is it just to say we got something?

Anything Morey does for now on is right! Hell I'd let him sleep with my wife if he thinks that a good idea.

Morey thinks that's a great idea. Let us know how that goes.

Cuz you have to get "something" even if it's nothing, as is the case here. It's either that, or draft pick(s), which I'm sure Morey was pushing for, but Walsh is there now, not Isiah unfortunately. Weiss is going to make some decent dough in Europe anyways, so he's got no incentive to come to Houston, and the Rox have NO reason to bring him over.

ewing was signed to a partially guaranteed deal worth the rookie minimum of about 400k.

if the rockets cut him (likely, if they couldn't trade him) they would owe maybe half of that to him as the guaranteed portion.

instead, they traded away his entire salary without taking anything back in return, thus saving anywhere from 200-400K, however you want to look at it.

Good move imo, it might seem small but sometimes that's just enough cap space to make a deal down the line.

no problem, the numbers are a rough estimate though. still it's fair ballpark figures to work with.

maybe one of our resident capologists (gater?) can chime in and tell you the exact dollar for dollar amounts.
