I would have never dreamed would have aquired this guy out of all people. I continually think we are so lucky to get Ron Artest. This is like the "lucks" opposite side = Frederic Weis.

Funny, the Rockets now have both Weis and the guy drafted one pick behind him.

You may have forgotten about the 1999 Draft. The (JVG-coached) Knicks had the 15th pick, and I believe many fans were rooting for them to draft a certain local star. But they went with the big French guy instead.

wow..great work by Morey just freed up some money. Isn't he the guy Vince Carter posterized and IF he ever gets a contract this guy better work with Mutombo.

Knicks get someone to replace Balkman. I'll take the small salary dump. Now lets get back on the phone with Landry and Deke.

....and please take a look at Joe Smith's availability.

Actually, if he had held his head high, like he had some pride, he would have hit Carter in the nuts with his head, punishing Vince's audacity of jumping over a 7-footer. :)

Weis never signed with the Knicks and always has been in Europe. The Rockets have acquired his rights. They don't need to cut him or bring him to Houston, nor do they have to pay him any money unless they want him as an extra center. I seriously doubt if Weis will ever play in the NBA.

I just love how Morey watches out for the cap and refuses to get caught up in bad contracts or contracts for players who will never play for us. Ewing's contract becomes guaranteed next week. Smart move to dump him for someone who will likely never play in the States, much less for the Rockets.

Compare that to the CD days of Maloney, Shandon Anderson, Kelvin Cato, Moochie, etc.......

Just because he's french doesn't automatically mean he wants his face in someone else's nuts.

At first, I thought this guy was going to be roster crap on the end of the bench. Then my brain kicked in that this was a salary dump.

    Sorry I doubted Morey..... :)
