We need a young, quick, athletic, compact guard like Head that can chase around around the smaller quicker guards like Wade, Ray Allen, Arenas, Iverson, Jason Terry, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, etc. I'm all for adding a taller 2-guard to defend bigger swingmen like Kobe, Stackhouse, and LeBron, but not at the expense of Head.

This team is not in a position where it can continue to give up talent to get talent. We need to find a way to add talent with the trade exception and MLE, while keeping what little talent we have left.

I have much more faith in JR Smith changing his attitude than in Luther Head growing 3-6 inches.

We can sign a player like Greg Buckner to defend those players you've mentioned. Luther Head got abused by Ray Allen and Kobe (I remember there was a back-to-back late in the season and it seemed that Luther was pretty much about to give up in frustration).

I think JR Smith would be much more servicable off the bench and has a higher ceiling at his age.
