So, do you think Landry's getting offers that he's turning down? It's hard to say, but from the quotes from Baker, it sounds like other teams have interest but they have not given him offers. It could be their not making offers because Baker has made it clear his threshold is high -- what the teams consider too high -- so they don't bother. But, it can also be (and, I think this is what it is) that the teams know they'd have to significantly overpay to overcome the natural advantage that the Rockets have (which they obviously don't want to do). And, they don't want to tie-up their money on the sure-fire losing prospect of offering market value. It isn't even that the potential penalty of losing the bet is so onerous, just that you are bound to lose that bet. So, no market value offers are forthcoming either. I don't think you can say the market is setting the price when there is no liquidity in the market.
