Rudy makes mistakes too. Just becuz he wants to sign Taylor doesnt mean that he's going to leave his bad attitude in LA. They're prolly just taking a chance on him and hoping that he'll leave his old self back in LA. It doesnt mean that he will bring his bad attitude to Houston, but there's always a chance. But, despite this, I'm still in favor of signing Taylor. He will definately be something for other teams to worry about. A rotation of Mo Taylor/Kenny Thomas/ C-Rog would be pretty good. Good point about Mr. Mean though BigDee. I think with Mr. Mean, and the rest of our coaching staff, we might be able to turn Mo into the player that he is capable of becoming. ------------------ president of the dan langhi fan club. I think that Mo could average up to 20 a game with the Rocks. He's making his decision tomorrow, right? If he signs with the Rockets, we could be a great team. ------------------ Peace, Dave Rockets Online.com Write an Article For Rockets Online

to me it's real simple. we have absolutely nothing to lose if we can get big mo for the exception. if he keeps up his persistent paint allergy, we let him go. however, if he turns into not only prolific scorer, but a windex-man, we try to keep what surely would be a western conference allstar player (20-10 = allstar pf). all this for the blue-light special price of $2.25MM. ummm, where do i sign up? ------------------ [This message has been edited by verse (edited August 11, 2000).]
I saw this in Seattle Times today: According to a source, Maurice Taylor flew to Seattle last week to meet with General Manager Wally Walker and Westphal after turning down a three-year, $18 million contract from the Toronto Raptors. The meeting went well, with the Sonics offering Taylor their $2.25 million exception. Taylor indicated he will decide next week. But if Taylor joins the Sonics, it will almost certainly be through a sign-and-trade deal with the Los Angeles Clippers. Seattle could package several players whose contracts equal at least $5 million: Ruben Patterson, Vernon Maxwell, Greg Foster and Vladimir Stepania. Despite being a second-tier free agent, Taylor has few options because teams with cap space have used their money on other players. Taylor doesn't intend to re-sign with the Clippers, and the only other team left with significant cap room - Chicago - is overloaded at power forward. If Taylor takes the exception, he will most likely do so in Houston, which he visited Tuesday. The Rockets can get significantly under the cap next summer after the retirement of Hakeem Olajuwon ($14 million next season), and use their money to re-sign Taylor. Despite Seattle's interest in Taylor, the team has been pleased by the offseason development of their starting power forward: Vin Baker is working in Connecticut with assistant Steve Gordon on shooting drills after undergoing a conditioning regimen this summer. ------------------ Having a Rockets jersey, $40.00 Having a Rockets t-shirt, $15.00 Having CLUTCHCITY.NET, PRICELESS!
