    We have nothing to lose by signing Ford.He can at least play through the suspension period for Taylor by coming of the bench for a few minutes.

    Rockets signed forward Alton Ford.
    Ford takes the roster spot of the suspended Maurice Taylor. He'll be used as one of Kelvin Cato's backups.

    Don't look for him to be on the roster for long but he is another 6 fouls (who has size) with two guys suspended.

    Maybe he is for development purposes, and the staff and Ford will work to develop his game. Maybe he is a practice body.

    Whatever.

    Ford is not likely to see any (real) action in the forseeable future, IMO.

    K, can any1 tell us more about this scrub in a few words? His strengths and weaknesses? Don't we have enough of these scrubs already?

    The Suns add an enforcer with touch. Alton Ford evidently did not like school as he, along with a number of other underclassmen who were warned they were not first rounders stuck around for the draft anyway.

    Ford's not really a scrub.

    He'll be the strongest and toughest player on the roster the minute he arrives. The only person who might challenge that would be Braggs. Ford can bang and has a lot of weight to throw around. He carries 280 pounds pretty well.

    He has skills and a good upside, and he is only 22 years old. He was immature at UH and left school way too early. If he hadn't, he would have probably been a first rounder almost automatically with a little more seasoning.

    He needs coaching and experience and an attitude adjustment from when he was younger. If those things fall in place, he will be a great addition. If not, he's still better than at least a couple of players on our current roster.

    According to Chronicle, Ford was signed yesterday, but Rockets' website doesn't show it. Kinda weird.
    Is this a 2-3 week contract?

    Whatever happened to UH's other power forward, George Williams. He seemed like an interesting project at well because he had some nba talent and a better body than Ford.
