I had a teacher in elementary school named Miss Pell. Only thing I remember is she taught us how to churn butter.
Ok, rolleyes aside, how many people by your estimate did not understand what Deuce meant by resign in the context of his post? I took exception not so much with the correction, but with the arrogance in which it was conceived. The guy came in verbally shaking his finger and can't even get his own post together. If you and Crums respond well to that sort of thing, then cool. I don't. It's not about attention (now that comment almost hurt) and now this thread is totally derailed.
Term: (one of several definitions) A word or group of words having a particular meaning I don't know, maybe it applies.
Berman also reported that CD and Falk are working on a deal for Deke. I think he'll take it, it's not like he's strapped for cash (he's still making like 12M/year from the Nets). I also think he was impressed on how the Rockets helped his hospital in the Congo.
I think Deke will re-sign as well. Deke has a big heart and Les may not reward directly, but generously indirectly. There - We are now re-railed.
A thread about spelling and grammar just wouldn't be complete without me. So, here's my cameo. "Good luck. We're all counting on you."
agreed. Deke has been quoted as saying he wants to be back here. His problems in past years were more due to him not feeling properly appreciated than declining skills. Because of his age, he was slotted behind centers that were not better than he is, and it hurt his pride....here he is backing up a guy who he feels deserves to be starting over him, so he doesnt mind playing hard behind him. I really dont see the ROckets not bringing him back. Vescey, a Airplane reference...this thread is now complete.
really? by ignorant people, perhaps. those who paid no attention to his play or his stats. must've been the same people who thought cato magically turned around under jvg. but that problem (and those faulty perceptions) seems to be pretty rampant among the casual fan.
We have his Early Bird Rights, assuming the new CBA is similar on this to use these rights it has to be a 2 year deal. It can be up to the average player salary or 1.75X his last years salary, so the upper range is not a problem. Deke is very effective, but only for like 15 MPG. I don't think any other team would throw 5 mil a year at him (full MLE/average salary), certainly not for multiple years. I'd think two years for 6 mil total is pretty fair to both sides (no raise, even 3 mil years). If it can be frontloaded in any way, even better. Anything less than 3 mil a year for 2 years--Deke is doing us a favor, a 7 or 8 mil total contract is not unreasonable either. It would be great to get a 2 year 4-5 mil contract, but I think two years 6-7 mil is more likely.
not sure what you meant macfan,I was just referencing crums17 and the rest of the grammar police's ability to take the conversation off of hoops.I figured this thread would be an interesting read.
