    Tracy,

I am a Rockets fan, not a Tmac fan. If you can help the Rockets win, then great that is all that matters.

Play hard, and win....that is all.

as always, every time mcgrady speaks, i cringe.

and i certainly appreciate the number of times he mentioned "I" or "ME", it's never "WE".

    what ever changes?

best case for the team, he plays all out and plays into the flow and helps this team win games CONSISTENTLY. i really can care less for all other things.

Isn't that thing just because the interviewer asked about "HIS" condition, not "TEAM'S" condition. Didn't we called him a "TEAM-MAC" during 22 straight win?

as a star, pr is part of your life. you don't have to have a college degree to understand; just go to any barnes & noble and you can read plenty of pr books for dummies over there.

All of those things he said are very bold and reassuring statements.

I hope he doesn't get injured/plays in pain so we can get the real T-Mac back.

    I'm excited.

TMac is a outsider shooter relying on his shooting touch, he will feel failure if not shoot well, that's his problem.

Because when we lose people don't play it on "WE" the team they blame it on "him" Mcgrady...He tried to fit in and defer to Yao and not make it about himself and people complain, now he's tryna contribute again and people still aren't happy, what does the guy have to do?

Talk is talk. We all know Tracy rarely disappoints in giving the media what they want.

I think we could come back full throttle for one game, but the issue is, can he sustain it? Or will his body/mind break down again? It's hard to imagine that just 2 weeks of shaping up and rehab can replace an entire offseason regiment, when others have been in the gym shooting 500 jumpers a day.

Still, I'd like to believe. Come on Tracy, don't disappoint all the Rockets and Tmac fans out there.

Extremely well said. If McGrady wasn't super talented, there wouldn't have been an obvious problem to begin with. Houston fans have been more forgiving of T-Mac than just about any other city's fans I can think of... I've watched T-Mac quit before (GSW two years ago when he thought we already lost homecourt to the Jazz, Philly last year on the road and just about the entire 2005-06 season come to mind), but never with such blatant evidence. The Jamario Moon dunk was one thing, but the "standing at half court" pouting was equally disturbing.

I can already tell the PR blitz is going to work. Houston fans won't boo T-Mac when he is introduced again at home... I know that. They're too nice. But for one game and one game only, they should boo him loud and clear. I've been a longtime fan of T-Mac's, but what he did eroded away trust. I don't trust this guy to bring it every night any longer and am worried that so much of our team success depends on him.

And those speculating he reads the board... I can tell you 100% that's true.

Well what do you expect? Haters like you bashed him constantly and singled him out repeatedly when the whole team was struggling. You expect to be all kumbayah now and talk about his team when all everyone was bashing was him? You can see him from his quotes that he got hurt from all the criticism he got here, and is eager to make everyone eat crow. T
More importantly the focus of the message obviously is on how he is back and you are bashing him for not mentioning the team. What the hell did you expect him to say?

Berman: Tmac has a message for the rocket nation...

Tmac: The team really played well, definitely carried the load well without me blah blah blah...

Do you even see what's wrong with that scenario? Give me a break

    Now we know for sure!

I think the "crow" part refers to some people believe that we are better off getting rid of McGrady (for players like Hinrich), and we will never win anything big with him, and that the rift between him and his teammates is beyond repair.

I know I have no regrets with what I've said - because my problems are with what he has done, and I have no interest in declaring what he can or can't do in the future. He's proven to me that he has professionalism (off-court preparedness) of Barkley and in my opinion he crossed the most sacred line in sports when he gave lip service effort - not just the Moon play, not just one game, but for several games.

People have said "he didn't quit last year" - as CR would say, you want a cookie? You are the supposed leader of this team (at least when Yao is out) and there are only 6 players in this league that are paid more than you are - I would hope you can find the fortitude to not quit when times are rough.

I realize there are times when a player comes in and doesn't leave his blood on the court. All of us go to work somedays and just don't have a lot going. I think any player is allowed around 8-10 'off' games a year. But the Cleveland game, the Toronto game....those were something else.

He reads these boards and wants to stick it to people like me? Well, if you're that immature and unprofessional that you need that sort of motivation to do your job, okay fine. Shut me the hell up.

I care about the Rockets more than anything in any sport. So if someone, even a Rocket, is screwing them up, I'm going to speak up.

If McGrady comes back, plays a team game and leads these guys to playoff success, I'll have no crow to eat. I'll be very happy, and happy that he turned things around and was part of it.

I honestly don't care what he says anymore. I like the confidence but I honestly DON'T want to see a vintage T-Mac. This is a much betterteam and would like to see him be part of Rick's offense. Let's see what happens.

Haters like me? Are you kidding me? I've defended him this season as much as any single poster on this board. I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he said he was injured, I never wanted him traded, and I didn't think his performance this year casted any new light on his body of work in carrying the Rockets the last 4 years. I also criticized Yao for allegedly (now disproven) wanting him traded. So give me a break with the sweeping accusation.

What I won't do is defend him when he spews his usual empty rhetoric and throws his teammates under the bus.

As far as "eating crow", Carl already put that to bed.

Mcgrady will return to action? Personally I'm a bit scared.
