McGrady will shoot about 45% dish out about six dimes and the Rockets will beat the tar out of the Pistons. We don't need him to be Orlando Tracy.

Don't know why his critics will "eat crow." Few has denied his talent, it's his dedication to work and team play that was questioned.

Coming back strong doesn't disprove that he didn't work hard enough or that he wasn't playing ball-stopping offense.

Coming back strong doesn't make Toronto go away.

I think Toronto is the big one for people. That was ugly. He will have to lead the Rockets to win a series in the playoffs to get a lot of people back. He will have to win a ring to win a few dead-enders.

I think for someone like t-mac, he needs people to doubt him rather than have people tell him he's the next jordan. Obviously he listened to the criticism. If he's energized, I say let's keep ragging on him so he keeps the intensity up through the playoffs.

For me, what happened happened. We saw him gave up. We saw him let Jamario Moon fly by without even trying.

If he comes back strong, I may think he has changed his ways.. but even multiple title didn't change what happened. You don't give up like that even if you are not 100%.

Can anybody provide an example of a professional athlete who had his work ethic and attitude continually questioned throughout his professional career (regardless of whether or not you thought it was true) then suddenly shed that label late in his career to prove his critics wrong?

I'm sure there are some but I can't think of any off the top of my head. It seems like players with that kind of reputation always end up falling short.

I don't know about work ethic or attitude but people will always question players that don't have post season success. Barry Bonds, A-Rod, Tony Romo, etc. Only person that was able to break it on the top of my head right now is Peyton Manning.

If he doesn't then I would look to Phoenix or Chicgao to get him gone quick.

Well, I think that is a tad extreme. Multiple titles would make me feel quite good about Tracy McGrady, or Attila the Hun at this point. :D

On a serious note- If we're going to invest so much importance on judging his character, I would also point out that I can't write off a person who has done so much to expose what's going on in the Sudan.

I don't think he's a bad guy or anything... just flakey as far as his record shows. Unfotunately, very talented people are flakey sometimes. It's frustrating for fans, teammates and coaches when this happens.

Not that I want him off the team at all cost... or that he can't be useful, it's just that he's been a flake, and probably will always remain liable to flake.

Maybe he's flaky because people are criticizing him for playing below his capabilities and saying the injury is an excuse and he just doesnt want to put in the effort after carrying the team for 4 straight seasons. That'll make anyone a bit flaky or a bit peeved.

Basketball is different from any other job in that it requires freakish physical fitness to excel. Its not all about heart and effort. If youre not physically healthy, you're going to look bad. That's what happened. He played because if he didnt, people would have questioned his toughness..As it turned out they questioned his toughness any way, and it has reached an almost laughable level now.

Lets please just see how he is moving and go from there.

I predict that in his first game back he will have a very good game, similar to the near triple double he had off his first major hiatus this season, then his performance will settle on a middle point between his Toronto low this season and his play the last several seasons.

That means that Tracy would be a Rocket for the rest of the year since the TDL is the 19th. I'm glad he's coming back so that way we can see where he's at physically and mentally. I think Morey and management gave him an ultimatum. I think their mentality was along the lines of if we have to trade him for fifty cents on the dollar (I really hope this won't be the case) then so be it. I'm hoping he comes back and shows us what he's made of. Hopefully we wont have to hear any more Tmac for J O'neal or Kirk frickin Hinrich rumors.

" I will be back... we will be back...." Infamous quote from 2005. We are waiting. We have been waiting.
