He doesn't need to say all that things, just come out to play and close some mouths, Tracy. You don't have to convince anyone, who don't have faith in you, it's their problem. Your role is to play well, not try to convince anyone.

I'd like to believe what he said this time despite he let us down few weeks back. And he's confident in himself, that's all that matter because we can tell it from the practice and the scrimmage they had the other day.He dunked and jumped high.

I can't wait to watch the game with the ol' Mac back to attack! :D

I saw the interview just right now....he said those things, but i don't see any confidence, at least not the type he should be showing as he makes strong remarks like that. It was just his old, unemotional way of speaking. i don't doubt he is confident, but I got more excited reading the words than watching him say it.

Strong words, we shall see what's the reality soon.

I remember last game the ball rolled over to t-mac, and he played with the ball, dribbled it between his legs, seemed as if he wanted to be out there.

First - I really want McGrady to come back and do great. This Rockets team has the potential to be great, something we haven't seen in over a decade.

But Jesus, he's coming across as such a douche. Not one word of how well the team played shorthanded?

And here's a quick bit of PR101 for him: instead of griping about fan criticism, no matter if it's justified or not, say the following:
"I know a lot of fans are down on me right now, and it's my goal to win each and every one of them back with my play"

Anyway - let's all hope for the best.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm, but i hope so... and you changed his words a bit to make it sound more threatening...

Do you think 2 weeks can make McGrady this good? I'm not doubting him but I'm just saying. I really hope these words translate into his play

QFT. The man has no idea what to say nor when to say it. It's hard to defend him, really.

it was mostly mental in my opinion. he always had the game. when he felt "good" this year, he played great.

as long as his confidence in his body is good, he should play well. he could take as long of a rest as he wanted but if his psyche didn't improve, he will never fully exert himself.

now you'll see a tracy that will force things (try to dunk, attack the fast break...).

Doesn't know when to shutup. He's trying to pull a Dwade, but lets see if it happens...

Damn TMac must want to win back the fans in a bad way. I hope he can back up his statements. I will be watching Sunday. He did not need to put the gorilla on his back, he just needs play within the team of passing and moving the ball around no more iso's please.

i don't think he cares about winning back the fans. i think he wants to win back people's respect more than anything.

i think if you're a player of tracy's stature and you hear fans saying you're washed up, done, your career is over..., you must be pissed.

and hopefully he takes this to heart and change his game in a way to extend his career. he has all the tools to be great for another 4 years.

I have faith in him though

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. He's had people disrespect him so much that he is like "OK, I'm gonna show them."

This will be interesting. By the end of the season one of three things will happen. #1) T-Mac will show he is washed up (probably not happening as doctors haven't said so). #2) T-Mac will show flashes of brilliance but fail to lead us anywhere (possible). #3) Tinman eats crow and the rest of the mac haters (also possible).

I'm personally hoping for #3 as it will be funny and make great conversation throughout the offseason. More important, it would mean we won a 'ship!

the only other time he has had to prove he was a "good" player in this league was in toronto when his coach said he would be out of the L in 3 years.

ever since then, tracy has had it easy b/c he's been great.

this year is different. EVERYONE is saying he's done. i think morey deep down inside also wonders if tracy can be tmac again. and i think he's taking it to heart finally. sure tracy shouldn't need this kind of criticism to work hard and prove himself. but he's one of those guy who need others to motivate him. hopefully, this could be the re-emergence of tracy (ala dwayne wade).
