[Fox 26] CD and Lindsey to meet with Mike James Thursday

Well, maybe someone can start a seperate thread if there's real interest in debating the tenure of CD. I'll pitch in.

Here, in short, A GM, to me, is more than a deal facilitator. A GM, first and for most sets the vision of the team. He hires Coaches, signs the players and drafts. If Getting the players coach wants is the only merit of the GM, then he's not a good GM, end of story.

Even the Tmac deal, which everyone is quick and proud to cite, wasn't a brilliant deal, given the fact Tmac pretty much forced his way to Houston. We still has JH at hand at this point of time.

Also, I wans't advocating trading the #1 pick. I think the alternative - had they not drafted Yao - was not Jay Williams, given Franscis' "We need no another PG". There was rumors at they might trade it at that time if you recall.

 

Polls are only as accurate as the last trade.

Everybody on this very same BBS was claiming CD should have been voted GM of year after we picked up Bobby Sura, Jon Barry, David Wesley and Mike James while dumping total garbage contract all during the span of like 3 months.

My point is, CD has done some good things and done some bad things ...just like every other GM in the league.

It's just that most of the examples you cited, isn't really an exuse for CD.
I do realize "just like every other GM" means Mediocre.
