Wednesday now! Geez, they seriously need to tell him to make up is d*** mind ASAP so that they can get on with the rest of their offseason. I know James is doing this for his best interest and to make sure he decides on the best place, but this dragging on is only hurting the Rockets.

Whao, kind of a Beltran Dejavu there.

Thanks for the sanity check Clutch. Everybody else around suddenly is freaking out about this meeting to the point that they got me wondering too.

Hopefully we'll find out very soon!

It wasn't surprising that he met Avery that was well known, what was surprising to me was that he met CD as well. I guess we will just have to wait till Wednesday or maybe later.

MJ is just being a good buisinessman, he will take the best offer. If the offers are competitive I believe he will choose Houston. If Cuban outbids us then we will pursue plan B, C, and so on.

I don't think we should cave in because he is still talking to Dallas, just make our best offer and go from there. I think we should have to know one way or the other by Wednesday afternoon at the latest. Hopefully we are already talking to plan B and C.

This is what I am thinking. I thought they already had one undersized scoring combo guard--now they want two? Are they going to trade Harris? Odd.

Croshere may help the combo forward situation, but that team would be stupid to drop their MLE on a combo guard who either will only get 20 minutes a game or will give them the smallest backcourt in the league. Trading Daniels took away their only legitimate two guard (assuming they have not resigned Griffin, which I have not heard one way or the other). Just plain odd.

And it cracks me up that everyone is becoming a pessimist on the James front. The guy has stated his preference for playing in Houston, his wife is pregnant and wants to remain around their family and their house in Houston, and Houston is offering an equivalent or possibly better deal than either of the other two teams. Where does logic lead you on this one? I think Cuban is just trying to force Houston to use their MLE and not their more flexible TE.

No need to sign Marcus Banks. If the MJ plan doesn't fall through, then we should give the MLE to Kelvin Cato or Bonzi Wells. I know Bonzi wants more than the exception, but something's got to give. Is it legal to offer someone the MLE + TE? And John Lucas III has been the best point guard in Summer League.

If you were Mike James, which organization would you choose? Rockets or Mavericks? I'd go with the Mavericks. Cuban treats all his players like kings. He's willing to spend the extra money, even if it's under the table.

Oh, that is absurd. Are we to diddle around with this guy, feeding his ego in wholesale lots, while the remaining free agents sign with another team and are taken from the market? Perhaps we should seriously begin to look elsewhere.

Personally, I would move on with the MLE. If he ends up wanting it, too bad. He would have to use the TE.

Minnesota will probably re-sign him with a just over the MLE type deal.

Earl Watson for Juwan is the key.

In what way are they treated better than the Rocket players?

    Sounds like either
    1. Mike didn't get any of the 3 teams to offer the 5 year MLE contract that he wanted, thus is giving all teams 2 more days to blink.

    or

    2. Mike got one or two of the teams to offer the 5 year MLE deal, but not from the team he wants to join yet, so he's giving more time for his favorite team to blink and match.

Well, his favorite team may decide to see his blink, and raise with an offer to someone else... perhaps 2 or 3 someone elses. We've had this sort of thing happen before, and the available talent can and will decide to sign elsewhere, even if they would like to be here, due to uncertainty about what the Rockets will do.

Randy Galloway of EPSN radio here in DFW reported last week that his source tells him James will sign with the Mavs. Didn't identify the source but to give him credibility, he said this was the same guy who told him Terry would re-sign (including money and length of contract). For what it's worth...
