The thing about shipping Stackhouse away is all of a sudden their backcourt is real small with Terry, James, and Harris as the primary rotation. Remember Daniels is gone too. If they are thinking championship next year they do want to keep Stackhouse. Whether they could keep Terry, Harris, James and Stack all happy is another question, there would be a lot of redundancy in their roles. Stack of course can get minutes at the back-up 3 as well, but Josh Howard doesn't need much rest (now they could be thinking playing JHo more at the 4).

Good points. In fact, now that I think about it, I find it a bit strange that the Mavs would even go for James. Something else must be going on. Say if they land James, then they have more moves planned like trading for Kmart. Unlike the Rockets, they do have assets that can be traded for other players.

so you think you have a better understanding of him then his players? i'd say it's extremely likely that van gundy is a lot different around his players then his media persona suggests.

The only reason Dallas wants James is because we want him. Best believe that if the Nuggets want James in a trade for Kenyon Martin, Cuban would pull the trigger.

Honestly, I don't know. But players typically say all the right things to the media about their coach.
