I was just wondering all of your opinions on something. Which of the following former Rockets would you take back? Put in order the one you would take back the quickest to the one you would probably not take back at all. Here they are: Scottie Pippen (SP), Robert Horry(RH), Sam Cassell(SC), Mario Elie(ME), Michael Dickerson(MD), Othella Harrington(OH), Stacey Augmon(SA), Brent Price (BP), Matt Maloney (MM), and Pete Chilcutt (PC). Let me know what you think.

    1 Cassell
    2 Dickerson
    3 Harrington
4 Elie (strictly for his heart)
    5 Horry

Pippen sucks. A GREAT role player, maybe. Even a good starter, with other(s) being the stars. He's putting up numbers that are lower or on par with last years. To hell with him.

Dickerson and Mobley ... which would you take for SG? Hard to tell. I personally like Dick more.

Elie's heart? Good point! I like his heart, too.

Harrington and Kenny Thomas ... I like KT more. He has MOVE.

    Pete Chilcutt? Who? [IMG]

Cassell would have been the hottest on the list if we didn't have Stevie. Now Stevie just makes forgetting Sam an easy task.

    Not to mention Maloney!

Horry? We have Rodger (intentionally misspelled!)

Pippen is nowhere close to the Wizard in terms of consistency. We know what to expect from Walt night in and night out, but Pippen ... For one-sixth of the price, Walt would be the right choice. [IMG]

I forgot to post my 5.

1.Othella Harrington (Since the Rockets need some inside help)

2.Mario Elie (He does have a great heart and maybe could help out with the young bucks on the team)

3.Michael Dickerson (Simply doing great and would be great for the Rocketz)

4.Sam Cassell (I am not sure, I would hate point guard controversey)

5.Robert Horry (Good forward, bad temper)

As I always say about Skippin Pippen.....DIE PIPPEN DIE!!!!!

I know, I know, we have a stud PG. But I love Cassell. Hell, he would be better than Drew as a back up. Anyway, I left everyone off the list except him and Horry (whom I loved and think would be a good fit now) because:

Elie - he has been known to badmouth the Rockets organization after he left. OLD.

    Chilcutt - never missed him

Pippen - high paid underachieving role player.

Othella - bad name, but I liked his game. We are better off with KT.

Price - worked hard, but was always hurt.

Dickerson - Would love to have him back, but we have Mobley.

That's all I have to say about that.

I don't want any of them back. We already have better players at all their positions.

I think the only one I'd really want back is maybe Dickerson.

Sammy wouldn't play back up. Didn't want to his 2nd year in the league.

Horry: I don't want him back. He's cheaper Pippen, but has the same mental problems and inconsistency.

Harrington: He's still not a good defensive player, and we have K. Thomas, Rogers, and Cato.

Elie: I might sorta want him back, just for old times sake, but if we're gonna get a 6'5" SG I'd prefer Dickerson.

Pippen: Um, how you say? HELL NO!

I like Hey Partner's Idea best of all

    Trade 'm again . . . for Draft Picks
    or something

    If horry could still consistantly
    knock down the 3 . . .he'd hit
I like big men that can hit the 3
It pulls a shot blocker out the paint

in a guard oriented Offense. . . Sagging
shaq gets burned by 3-point KT

    Pippen a big resounding NO</>

Harrington... maybe but I like KT much better in his rookie yr.

Dickerson , Yes I would but we are already set at guard.

Horry , I could see him fitting w/this team , slasher and dunker... yeap that would fit us perfectly. ......He is 30 already?? where has time gone by !!!!!!!!!!

Ellie ? maybe for old time sake but the way they parted I highly doubt it.

Cassel , YES I would love to have him back (should have NEVER gotten rid of him) but we do have Francis and like someone else said , Francis is making it easier to forget about Sammy but ET was good for us and bad for Utah!

Scotty Brooks ? hustle lot's of it but naw!

Brent Price...17 mil. 2 broken bones and some sprained ligaments later.... no way !

Chucky Brown...yes would like to have him back.....

2hamburgers... I mean sandwiches .. no way Jose!

    3. That one ex-Arizona shooting guard
    4. Cornrowed Grizzly shooting guard
    5. 14th pick in 98 draft

Oh yea, I wouldn't mind having Michael Dickerson back either.

Pretty neat topic. I don't know that I'd want any of them back at this point. I wouldn't want Cassell, Elie, or Dickerson since we're already stacked at the guard positions, and I don't think any of those guys would end up working out better in the long run than what we've already got (same for Maloney, Price, and Augmon, although that seems pretty obvious). Chilcutt's a scrub, and Pippen's too old. That leaves us with Harrington and Horry. I think Kenny Thomas has more potential than Harrington. He may not turn out as good, and he may turn out much better, but I'd rather take my chances with him over Othella. Another consideration is Harringon's limited offensive skills (confined to the post), and his tendency to clog the lane and inability to pass may not mesh well with our guard-dominated team. I like KT's ability to score from other places on the court, as it leaves the lanes open for the guards. That leaves Horry. Surprisingly, I'd take him first out of all the guys mentioned. I'd try to turn him back into a small forward, and start him ahead of Walt. At 30, he's not that bad of an option at that spot if we can't get another 3 in the draft. His height also helps make up for KT's lack thereof at the 4 spot. If I had a choice, I'd take Horry, but of course I'd explore other options first.

I would love to have Dickerson back, put it this way Mobley has no right to even be mentioned in the same league as Dickerson. I would trade Mobley and Drew in an instant to get him back.
