We still feel repercussions of it to this day. Nephews label anyone who disagrees with them as "LOFs".

I think it's a real term for people who have no affiliation with Lin today(Lin hasn't been a Rocket for what 6 seasons now) and still are obbssesed with him.

    Just to be clear:

MIT guy suckered a Harvard guy into a business deal he didn't want.

It’s not a term created by Rockets fans
its a response by stupid brainless trolls who were hit with the OF label similar to the Yao and Tracy fanbases who invaded this sacred land and kicked in the face by reality that their idols are not better than the team as a whole

In terms of basketball skill, Pippen is actually an NBA starter

We actually got players back when we traded Pippen.

We had to throw in a pick to get nothing back from the Lakers

Even Les approved the trade to the Lakers
We’re talking about an owner who made the city jerseys and all the advertising at Toyota center for China
I’m sure the feedback from the majority of the Chinese fans is that this equivalent to a drugged out Steve Francis and fat and old TMac to their league. It’s was a side show and they wanted the real show back

so by speaking more “black” I guess you’re trying to insinuate that’s why Lin sounds dumb?

Jesus, someone take this piece of trash out

No one but you take it as dumb. To fit in on a b-ball court, you can’t speak like a college lecturer - that would be unwelcomed. A casual language, even with slightly wrong grammar, would be the “correct” language in these settings.

If you feel Lin sounds dumb, that’s fine. However, it is irrelevant to what I’m describing - choosing a style of language that you’d use in a particular setting. For example, using careless vernacular, even with wrongs grammars, is not dumb, it’s in fact a style of speaking that is preferred on the street. It’d actually be dumb to use “smart” words and manicured phrases if it alienates you from your peers. The choice could be subconscious.

I just feel he had always tried hard to fit in, hence he’s unnatural and overly sensitive, contributing to him being “weak”-minded.

Darren Collison had a similar run to Linsanity I believe when CP3 was hurt at some point in NOLA.

Which is why I thought JLin was a good pickup since hey, at worst he's Darren Collison, at best he's a potential star. Turns out he didn't really pan out. I don't think Lin was bad here though, just had that really really awful end of game mistakes in the Portland series that kinda sealed his fate.

The most written about role player in history.

I don't think he and Melo could've coexisted. I remember Melo saying some passive aggressive stuff about the attention he was getting.

Both of them have weird insecurities that held them back.

The thread pulled a post out of @Clutch, a little rare these days, not that I blame him. Thanks for that, OP!
I’m probably missing posts on Twitter from him. I need to do something about it.

I remember when they signed him and there was billboards, ads, and even the media guide that had him front and center.....then we got Harden. And that first game changed everything for Lin.
