Sad to hear this traggic news. Prayers and warm wishes go out to family and friends. Lets hope they figgure out what it was that caused this quickly, and that others can learn from it, and IF preventable (I'm really thinking of Fred Hoidberg Reggie Lewis, Ronnie Turriaf right now), then lets get the testing done to help. I know these guys were in different situations, but, heart problems have been an issue in the past in the NBA. I'm not saying what happend to Jason Collier was definatly detectable or preventable. But, if it is found out that it is, lets not let this tragedy be in vain. Lets find out what is going on and do a better job of helping those who might have the same problems.

I now cheer for the Hornets and Hawks only behind the Rockets.

    RIP JC.

Sad to hear about Jason. I thought he was a good guy and a hard worker and seemed to finally found his niche. Now at 28, he's gone. I bet once the scientist and big brain people start to really look at the way our food is produced, they'll find that some of those preservitives are unhealthy. I'm 34 yrs old and it used to be rare when young adults had diabetes or died, but now it happens way too often. Conrad McRae, The lady hoops player a couple of weeks ago. TAMU had a freshman pass away as did Darling from FSU. I thinks its something in the food thats throwing the system off.

One of the nicest players in the league. I remeber at a open practice 3 years ago, he was signing autographs for free when he was not supposed to. RIP, God bless his family.

    Very sad news,,,may he RIP.

I wonder if he developed a blood clot in his leg after the knee surgery he had when he played in Houston. If so, Pulmonary Embolism is probably to blame for his untimely tragic death. This also killed NBC News reporter David Bloom in Iraq last year.
