@updawg @MR. MEOWGI myself and our friends used to sneak across the lake to that property and camp out and party -- usually the cops wouldn't catch us... My dad did the same thing with his friends back in the 60s -- not many places left around Clear Lake for that type of teenage shenanigans.

Exactly. We've all been to NASA. It was kind of unique eyesore. It should have been kept up a long time ago. Im sure there was enough money in Clear Lake

I hate how Houston doesn't hang on to historic buildings but personally it was just an abandoned house

Edit: old things are nice but they have to be maintained. The chron.com article says Hakeem used it commercially initially.

Its an old home that i guess was really secluded but as Clear Lake grew it kind of stands in the way as a mansion. No one rich enough for it to be a homestead is gonna live in that high traffic area in a house like that and no other home like it in the area. I guess really using it commercially was difficult
