What's really lost in all this is the fact that Mehlman is admitting that the republican party basically uses fear to win elections. fear of blacks fear of gays fear of mexicans fear of muslims It's not like we didn't know this, but it's refreshing to hear a republican (once head of the RNC) admit the truth.
