Do you believe relative currency strength is part of the answer?

Actually Bush said getting Bin Laden wasn't a top priority and they effectively stopped hunting them. Obama made it the number of priority.

Does cutting gov't jobs result in an increase in unemployment?

    Relative to what? Other currencies?

The USD index is at the same value today that it was at the beginning of 2009. Commodities prices have increased against all currencies. Furthermore, we have the good fortune of being able to pay other countries with our own currency instead of theirs, meaning forex rates typically don't come into play when we import.

So, to answer your question, no...unless you have compelling evidence to the contrary.

Actually, considering most Americans hold debt something to the degree of 100%+ of their income, inflation would be more helpful than harmful at this point, assuming incomes adjust to some degree to inflation (which in the case of the American economy, is somewhat true).

You can DOOMSDAY about the difference between a 2% and 3% inflation rate on higher energy and food prices (hilariously, people still view inflation as a big thing while the world crumbles around them, but eh), but nobody thinks for a second about the fact that it erodes the burden of debt as well, which is something most Americans sorely need.
