    Great points...

but given he's already on 'the list' should that list be ignored because he sang some funky tunes??? What about everyone else on ' the list. '

And Karen Carpenter might be alive if she ate a fricken sandwich now and again.

Man, I had a friend who was buddies with them in college. That really freaked him out. Oh, and it was Karen Carpenter.

What the hell happened to the guy?
    hmmm.

There's nothing wrong with Wonder Woman, dude. If Mama Cass had stayed away from that ham sandwich, well, she probably would have had a massive coronary anyway... oh well. :D

One of the weakest examples I have seen in a while.

First, he said craziest. For you, Oski, this is called superlative.

"Devastating" is not a superlative by itself. Most devastating would be one.

That was the first logical flaw in your attempt at making an argument.

Second, nobody said "You made me sick" to him.

    Second logical flaw.

Furthermore, "my mom died" is something that happens in the direct personal environment of a person. Obviously, while this does not normally affect the way of the world on a grand scale, it can subjectively certainly be the most devastating thing for the person in question. Here, in contrast to your example, we are comparing two things which all of us only get from the news.

    Third logical flaw.

Thanks for your valuable contribution, though.

So, if the Feds locked you up in guantanamobay, and just said that they had evidence you funded some terrorist group or something, with no proof at all, they dont show this proof to the public. Im sure your family for one would think it is their business. Heck even if you werent allowed in the country on the way back from a vacation, im sure atleast your relatives would like to know the reason, and for a famous person, the public, the fans need to know the reasons.

excellent way to put it in perspective, good job mulder! But its a sad time when we have stooped so low as to become so backward to throw around accusations with no proof.

I can sleep safely now knowing that Cat Stevens isn't terrorizing innocents.

That's more of a grammatical difference, rather than logic. Simple nit-picking that has little to no effect on the statement itself.

This part is true. However, reading back through the replies, it is not too far fetched to see that this might be where the conclusion was headed.

Judging by your reaction to Batman's indifference to the beheadings.. You seem to be just aghast at the thought.

Again, obvious hyperbole on Oski's part, but it was in the spirit of what he saw happening.

This is another red herring. Just nit-picking at the fact there's a difference between who is affected, and how, in terms of two events (a relative dying, and the government's classification of Cat Steven's as a terrorist).

No logical flaws exposed in any of your statements. At least according to the actual fundamentals of logic.

You were right to point out that in part two nobody had mentioned it "made them sick." But everyone knew that was obvious exaggeration.

How little you understand of what was being discussed is evidenced by the fact that you are the first person to claim Batman was indifferent to the beheadings. I did not understand it that way, and I am not sure Batman would agree with that interpretation either.

Well you can all breath easier! The terrorist song writer has been deported!

Singer Cat Stevens to Be Deported

By LESLIE MILLER, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Homeland Security officials said Yusuf Islam — formerly known as singer Cat Stevens — will be deported Wednesday after being denied entry to the U.S. Stevens had recently been placed on a government "no-fly" list after U.S. authorities received information indicating associations with potential terrorists, a government official said.

His flight was diverted to Bangor, Maine, on Tuesday afternoon after U.S. officials who checked the passenger list learned the singer was aboard. Federal agents met United Airlines Flight 919 and interviewed Stevens.

The government official, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, said Islam was placed on a watch list after multiple intelligence sources in recent weeks indicated the peace activist may have associations with potential terrorists.

Airlines have access to watch lists and are supposed to screen passengers to make sure those deemed direct threats to aviation do not board planes. The official said it was unclear why United Airlines personnel allowed Islam to get on the flight in London.

A call to the airline was not immediately returned.

Homeland Security Department spokesman Dennis Murphy said Islam was "denied admission to the United States on national security grounds."

A second government official, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, said U.S. authorities think donations from Islam may have ended up helping to fund blind sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, who was convicted for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and Hamas, a Palestinian militant group considered a terrorist organization by the United States and Israel.

In July 2000, Islam was deported hours after arriving in Jerusalem. A local paper reported then that the government claimed he had delivered tens of thousands of dollars to Hamas during a visit in 1988. Islam denied ever knowingly supporting Islamic terrorists.

I think I would have been pretty annoyed if I had been another passenger on that plane. Even if they don't want Cat Stevens/Yusuf YaddaYadda to enter the country, it doesn't seem like he was an immediate threat at all. They could have just picked him up coming in at whichever airport the plane was supposed to go to and could have put him back on another plane. No need to divert the whole plane and screw up the schedule for all the other passengers.

Yeah, because when there's a suspected terrorist on the plane, the first thing you worry about is WHERE you land...

Wow, they put an entire religion on the watch list... well at least now they are admitting it.

Caution: The comment above was a freaking joke, get over yourself, heh. :D
