I remember thinking Mondesi was a good comp for Leon but no longer. These days, he isn't a bust yet so you can't say he's not, but it looks like a 1% or less likelihood. I am still surprised he isn't getting mentioned as an option in RF at all. It feels like there is a world where he can have a 20/30 season playing very good defense and have 1.5 WAR with a 100ish wRC+/OPS+ due to low batting average but some walks (.225/.300/.400=.700) RF still needs to be a 115+ position, IMO but it would turn his prospects around. To me that would make him a great 4th OF in 2026 if Melton (or Cole sonehow) wins the CF job, providing a LH OF starter.
In the short sample we saw last year, he seemed flawed. There was something awkward about his play. Again, it was a short sample. He never had a chance to even work through the butterflies. I hope he gets another shot.
I wish he would at least get a Julks shot to prove himself. He has power/speed/and arm. He is at least a Def sub and threat as a late inning base runner.
In the same thought process, Yuli is signing a minor league contract with a ST invite with San Diego and Yu Darvish.
Former Astros projected among the top 100 position players in fwar (ZIPS): 31. Carlos Correa 42. Alex Bregman 49. Kyle Tucker 93. Teoscar Hernandez Pitchers: 35. Gerrit Cole 67. Patrick Sandoval 79. Joe Musgrove I thought it was interesting that ZIPS projects Isaac Paredes to produce more war than Bregman and Tucker.
One of the reason these type of projections are heavily flawed. They project Bregman to have 100 more PA, for no real reason other than Tucker had an injury last season. Even with that accounted for, the projections do feel low on Tucker for some reason.

Something that does not surprise me in the least about Folty. Good for his wife if she really does divorce him this time.
