Was his arm that weak? His average velo on throws last season was about equal to Chas (about 84 mph) - not great, but not significantly below average either.

Former Astros "Where are they now"

-Correa sitting at home tweeting congrats
-Springer sitting on his porch looking at his Sports Illustrated magazine cover from 2014
-Cole watching ESPN wondering what if
-Fiers digging ditches in Mexico for $1.50 an hour and no OT pay
-Keuchel looking at old videos of himself hoping he can play one more year somehow
-Greinke taking batting practice trying to land another 1 year contract as a pinch hitter

Wow. That means they expect him to make the big league roster (and they expected another team to take him), since he is out of options. Pretty big vote of confidence in Singleton; good for him to persevere, although sad to see all the wasted time (and sad he couldn’t have panned out with Houston).

I had no idea Singleton was even still around and playing. It would be crazy if after all this time he finally made it to the big leagues and excelled.

It's like Covid hit and Singleton said "F this... I'm going back to baseball"

He only hit .219 in AAA last year with 161 ks but did walk 117 times so maybe that's what they're banking on. Seriously, we had Chris Carter on our team in 2015 and the Astros were like nah Singleton sucks.

Singleton has 200 career pro homeruns and 727 RBIs. I'm trying to let that sink in a bit.

Interested to see the return. Would have been a good fit for Houston’s lineup.

I actually never liked Teoscar and his Ks for the Astros. He's a good HR hitter with decent average but I always prefer more contact hitters to round out the offense.

Be funny if Ray was included as he's tainted now ;) Maybe Toro

So the equivalent of Bryan Abreu and Jayden Murray. Pretty fair trade. I’m ok with Houston not making that deal.

Major props to Singleton. He got a lot of heat for signing that 10 million dollar contract with the Astros, but he assured his family’s financial security to an extent. I’m glad he’s coming along!
