lotta good and a few negative take aways from that list

On the hitting side: they definitely missed on some guys they let go (Teo, Kike, JD), but it’s a testament to the club and development program that they’ve had a top offense for the better part of a decade despite missing on them. Can’t say I would have expected them to do much better than they’ve done on the position player side.

On the pitching side, a good portion of that list is people who left in FA. Musgrove was traded for Cole. The only one that got away was Hader. They didn’t leave much on the bone otherwise. Sandoval and Houser are no great loss. That list is kind of a stark reminder they failed to develop pitching for a good chunk of time, but they at least were decent enough in their evaluations to not give up talent needlessly. It would be upsetting if they had let guys like Framber and Urquidy go make it somewhere else, but they didn’t. And now the pitching pipeline is actually paying dividends

Agreed. The lack of pitching development led to the Verlander-Cole-Grienke deals that depleted (but definitely did not decimate) the farm system.

Joe Kelly threw a high inside fastball at Jake Marisnick (Padres) last night. Jake manned up and took first base. Of course MLB fans that are still mad at the Astros support it, but at some point you would hope that dirty pitchers like Kelly would have to face chin music in defense of a teammate. Drilling a player mid body is one thing...

He loses all benefit of the doubt after he threw at Bregman's and Correa's brains last season intentionally. He's an idiot for doing this crap. The Padres are eliminated and you put your teammates (not yourself bc you don't hit and are a ratty b****) at risk of injury just before playoff time because the retaliation goes to them. If I'm SD I throw at Mookie's dick tonight.

Wow, Kelly is such a man, what a big man he is. He's getting off on doing this thinking he is some sort of enforcer and for MLB to sit by with a thumb up their ass is disgusting but they created it.

I would just like someone to charge the mound and beat the s*** out of him.

    Cortland Finnegan style.

Twitter, and social media in general, is awful, but I love it for instant baseball stats and fan cam angles of home runs.

If I am SD I have my pitcher turn around and peg Scherzer in his throwing arm as he stretches before the game.....

"Ooops! Sorry about that, I didn't mean to drill your pitching arm!"

"You hit me with a ****ing baseball bat over and over..... what do you mean oops!"

    "Oh God, sorry!"

"WTF, you just stomped on my back!!"

Amazing that the rebuild was so successful despite drafting two of the 5 #1 overall picks to never make the Majors.

One of those still turned into Bregman, so it was far from a major loss.
