I'm pretty sure he would have left for more than $3M. The White Sox non-tendered him. It is just teams were worried after he hadn't been healthy.

I don't remember, his deal with the Sox after he was non-tendered was a guaranteed MLB deal, right?

Yes. I was shocked at how low given his potential and decent track record.

And didn't he sit around for a few weeks waiting for someone to sign him?

    Until February.

Brett Anderson got $10M despite being constantly injured (A deal that worked very good for the Dodgers).
Rich Harden got $6.5M despite being constantly injured, but that deal didn't work out.

And those were both several years ago, but stand out as the types of deals I thought Rodon should get. I suppose I should just be thankful he isn't on the As, Yankees, or Dodgers, but geez. We could be the Braves and paying $11M for Drew Smyly :D

Did Framber break his finger before or after Rodon signed? After, right?

Good for Teoscar. I don’t think he deserves to start in an ASG but good for him nonetheless.

Not a no hitter or anything but 6 innings & 124!!! pitches for Jordan Lyles. Wowzers.

I hate rooting against Gerrit Cole. But it's the Yankees, so screw him.

Dodged a bullet that other teams were willing to break the bank for Cole.

I expect he will adjust and still be a good pitcher, but he's not being paid to be a good pitcher.

There’s a reason why he was on the trade market 2 years before FA, and was able to be had for what the Astros gave Pittsburgh.

He was a fine pitcher for the Pirates. But nobody was expecting him to turn into the monster he was in Houston.

If he’s reverting back to pre Astros form (Pirates wanted him to be more of a Sinker/ground ball pitcher), good luck to him going forward, he will need it.

This is the 4th version of pitch repertoire he's used.
There was pre-Astros with typical 4S/curve/Change with some cutters thrown in.
Then he became 4S/Curve with some cutters thrown in with Astros.
When blisters forced him to abandon the cutter, he became a slider thrower with 4S/curve combo.
Now, he's brought back the cutter using it and the slider as primary pitches with the 4S thrown in there sometimes.

Was watching the Los Angeles Ohtani's of Anaheim game highlights and I did not realize that Max Stassi has been having a solid season. Looks like he has been hurt for part of it because he's only played 36 games, but his slash line is .312/.390/.523/.913 for the season. Good for him.
