Hoping Franklin can still come back healthy and pitch for a while

Damn that’s rough. Been a long way down with steady injuries since the trade. I wouldn’t bet on a long/good career from him but hopefully I’m wrong. Goldstein mentioned he’s a good kid so I will be rooting for him to come back strong.

Sorry, Robert, but trades are either make or break, do or don't...

How many do you want us to throw back in your face?

I hate tweets like this. The centerpiece of that deal was the money that Detroit could either use to speed up rebuilding or to line the owner's pizza box with more cash.

DK’s 2021 numbers are ugly but there’s a lot of season left. He did pitch well in 2020 so maybe he can regain some of his form. I’ll always be a DK fan/supporter, but without his pristine location he may very well be unplayable sooner than most anticipated. Hopefully he can put it together.

I wonder how much of it is just about guys who FB tops out in the 80's becoming a dying breed? How many who do are considered top pitchers in the game? Is it different than it was 5 or 10 years ago? 20?

"Every Cole Start is Appointment Viewing", said the mlb.com headline this morning.

Since it's apropos to the thread: Lyles got the ball for the Rangers and gave up a run in 6 IP with 6 H and 6 K

Lots of familiar names on the box scores. Keuchel over Happ, Lyles over Cole.

The Athletic ran an article on Keuchel...
    https://theathletic.com/2569362/202...mechanics-and-aaron-bummers-normal-mechanics/

Those left-right splits could flip, because he’s walked more righties than he’s struck out, and neither line looks particularly sustainable. But as he points out, he’s been more of a two-pitch pitcher than at any point in the past couple of years. He’s throwing a sinker or a change-up roughly three-quarters of the time, has mostly sidelined his slider since coming to the White Sox, and has been throwing his cutter markedly less, mostly because the command doesn’t seem to be present yet. White Sox pitching coach Ethan Katz thinks they’ll both be important going forward because unlike swing-and-miss pitchers, working east and west is very crucial to forcing some awkwardness to the contact.

"Hey...that guy can play CF, right? Biggio did it...Berkman did it...why can't he?"

My 2nd favorite MMP CF moment was Richie Sexson hitting the pole about 50 feet up from field level and ending up on 3B.
