Awesome for him, forgot he grew up a Pads fan and always wanted to go home and play there. Liked his potential as a Stro, not surprised he's put it together the last year or so.
I must have missed it. Are you telling me Musgrove no-hit the Rangers in their new ballpark? How funny!
Who knows yet? I looked at who they got for him, 4 promising A-ball guys (C/1B, 2 SP and a CF) who could justify it. But yeah, it's a typical Pirates trade (except for their recent tiny window of competition, and the ridiculous Archer deal).
I finally figured out who beardless Odor reminds me of: it's 1/2 Orbit, 1/2 Easterby, and 1/2 13 year old.
Sucks for Dexter, he seemed like he was one of the good guys. He was one of the early vets who helped out with the rebuild. I think he was pretty close to Springer. Sorta like an Uncle Mike 1.0 (v2.0 is a considerable upgrade). https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/31236899/los-angeles-angels-dexter-fowler-season-torn-acl
Spoiler that's what I get for not watching highlights and talking out of my ass. Somewhere I misread "2nd start with the Padres" as "2nd home start with the Padres" Yep, Yankee rules.
There were many a times I’d project the Astros starting 5 with all the prospects. Man it was super exciting having all those projectable starters. Mark Appel, Vince Velazquez, Folty, Musgrove, etc..., Too bad that Pittsburgh got cold feet and pushed instead of committing to Musgrove. I have always thought of Andy Pettite light for Musgrove; workhorse type top of rotation guys. I’m super happy for Musgrove. Now Pittsburgh has prospects to try and harvest into ML stars. For Pittsburgh, was Colin Moran there because of the Cole trade? Because Colin Moran, “Red beard” is turning into that professional hitter everyone was raving about, average power, but great hitter. So Pittsburgh got some good talent back, too bad they gave up on Musgrove.
