Brett Wallace His LinkedIn page shows that Wallace is back in the Phoenix, Arizona area and works as a Self Employed hitting instructor. Yes, you read that right. Jordan Lyles The Rangers are stuck with him for another season and $8 million more bucks. But the 30-year-old Lyles (how can he be that young) may turn it around for them and even if he doesn’t he will have more than $28 MM in career earnings to fall back on in his “old” age. Matt Dominguez He is only 31 years old and a corner infielder who can’t hit consistently is not much in demand these days. After fairly extensive searching, I could not pick up a sniff on where he is now, though a good guess is that he is back in California, where he grew up. Any tidbits about Matt would be welcome here. https://chipalatta.com/2021/02/04/astros-where-they-are-now-part-1/
Brett Wallace and Jason Jennings wore the most ill-fitting two sizes too large pant sizes. Looked so damn awful.
@jim1961 jordan lyles was the first prospect I fell in love with haha . I followed the Astros before that , but not really the minors . I feel like if we had our current developmental staff he could have turned out like Urquidy . Maybe we threw him too many innings . We definitely rushed him . I really like change-up pitchers , but as soon as he got to the majors his vaunted control and pitchability disappeared . Taught me some good lessons about prospects in baseball lol . Still , I’d take him back on a cheap contract . If he’s got anything hidden , Strom will bring it out
Jonathan Villar to the Mets for $3.55M/1yr. Great deal for NY, I would have loved him in Houston for that price.
One might not be able to walk of the island in the Dominican Republic, but one can walk once in New York for $14M.
lol I worked with a girl who “dated” him his rookie year. Apparently the man was out late partying nights before he was pitching, always wondered how he was such a bust.
