    I just found out earlier this week that my wife is pregnant with our first. 1st doc. appointment is on the 20th. Cant wait... :D

    Blood Type Incompatibility - where the blood type of the fetus doesn't match that of the mother, resulting in antibodies created by the mother to fight off the "foreign body" her body is treating the fetus as. The antibodies then cross the placenta and attack the fetus's blood cells, which causes the jaundice due to an increase in bilirubin levels that the infant's liver cannot process.

    That's why she's under that blue light; a "bili-light," which helps her lil body process that bilirubin.

    Jaundice is common and normally it's no big deal.
