As long as we have a few fantasy league masturbatory scenarios, why not me adding mine: Mo + Los to Detroit (home boys make good). That's about 4.5 million right there. Mo gets to be with his baby, Los gets to go home. JYDog (how much does he make? about 3 million?) + (cap-killing scrub; need to check the Detroit roster) + next year's #1 Detroit pick + Detroit pick owed us + Cato + Walt to Minnesota. (Maybe throw in Milwaukee #1 owed us and future #1). Kevin Garnett to Houston. Now I reach for a Kleenex. Money-wise, I think it works because we have an exception from the Drew trade, don't we? And even if not, the numbers go so high (nearly 17 million) that Cato's BYC won't screw it up. Right? Right? Hmn. SO: Our team: 1. FRANCHISE/MOOCHIE 2. SHANDON/CAT 3. KG/LANGHI 4. KT/BULLARD 5. OLAJUWON/COLLIER. Team on the floor to close game: Franchise,Cat,Shandon,KG,Olajuwon. Use the 1.1 exception to grab a chump big guy. Voila! Hey, KG likes Rudy. Minnesota needs players and picks. They clear cap space much sooner than they would have otherwise. Los gets his wish. Mo gets re-signed to a bigger contract next year in Mo-town (Detroit will have cap space). I would have said just send him to Minnesota, but who knows if he'll re-sign there? Or Los for that matter. (They could use Mo now, though.) And what about us? Next year, we'll have at least our #1 pick and maybe another. There will be a half-ass center available in the mid to late teens of the draft. OK, OK, it won't happen, but who the hell will Chicago trade to land KG? Brand? Yes. That's 3 million. Ya still gotta give up another 5 million or so cause the Bulls are about 7 million under the cap. Admit it, ladies and gentlemen: some of you thought up this kind of nonsense today. But you didn't want to get flamed posting it. I, on the other hand, have no such pride. As has been posted: WHERE THE HECK IS OEILPERE WHEN U NEED HIM!!! ------------------
I like Olajuwon, Williams and picks to Minn. for Garnett. Caproom and picks are going to sway Minn. I wouldn't trade Francis -- even for Garnett. The one downside is the projected extension Garnett will expect. His contract will prevent us from rewarding Anderson, Taylor and eventually Francis. KG loves him some Rudy T........what an exciting longshot ------------------
What the hell is the point of trading Steve for Garnett? How much better would our team be. Yeah Garnett is better than Steve, but we need two superstars. Trading one for another doesnt help much. ------------------ Fun Police Says: 1. Stupid threads & Stupid BBS names are not FUN! 2. Conduct yourself in a FUN way! The Fun Police are Watching. Thw Wolves will not part with Garnett if we don't give up Francis, in this case. I mean, there are plenty of teams that can give the Wolves better players in return. Walt, cap room, and picks will not do it, IMO. The Bulls can already offer the cap room and the picks, plus they will be more than happy to get rid of Brand to get Garnett. With the same stroke, they erase all problems in the frontcourt. You ask "what's the point?" seeing that we need two stars. But, you said it yourself, isn't Garnett better than Francis? Wouldn't it be better to have him, then? Anyway, I could see our team going through quite an upgrade with Garnett instead of Francis. Seriously. C Cato PF Taylor SF Garnett SG Anderson PG Mobley Seems like a great line-up to me. ------------------ Nederland 2002 Qualifying Campaign (Damn those penalties!!!) Ace, who is going to pass the ball? Mobley wants the shots now, he ain't given it up anymore ---- wait, ah I get it. Mobley and a team of rebounders(Mo says he can rebound) and Cato. hmmmm, maybe it could work ... ------------------ There are 3 kinds of lies: lies, lies, and heypeeisms. -DrofDunkingDonuts
Of course, so much depends on where KG will want to go, and will that team getting him go through with it, knowing they'll have to talk him down from paying him $300 million (what a joke NBA salaries have become!) Scenarios? KG to Atlanta. Mutombo to NY. Camby and Houston and Atlanta #1 to Minnesota. Or just straight-up KG for Camby, Houston, picks. If he gets moved out, let it be to the East. The East sucks hard and needs a contender. We need the elbow room in the West. ------------------
I have a feeling that Garnett won't mind taking a paycut on his next contract to help land some more talent to win a championship. He'll be like 28, have more money than he'll ever be able to spend, and probably won't have a championship by then. ------------------ When you make an assumption, you make an ass out of yourself and umption. visit www.swirve.com
Good stuff. But, if we've got Garnett on the team, I say let him take the entire opposition by himself. The other guys will just be there to accomodate formalities. Seriously, though. Ask yourself this, considering these trade speculations: Should we have traded Drew? Imagine if he were still here. The trade would work perfectly for the Rockets. Two decent point guards and a very explosive frontcourt. Just like the good old days. ------------------ Nederland 2002 Qualifying Campaign (Damn those penalties!!!) Minnesota HAS TO trade KG to stay in Minnesota. ------------------ Remember this phrase: "Just a Rook"
Man I love these scenarios. Ok I got one lets trade Hakeem to Washington for there VP Micheal Jordan. He's the only guy that is better than the Dream in the 90's. Then lets trade Los to Detriot for Ben Wallace. Next we trade Mo-T for Chris Webber and Scott Pollard. Finally we trade Dan Langhi, Matt Bullard and Walt Williams for Kevin Garnett. Our roster would be tight!!! G. Francis, Norris G. Jordan, Mobley F. Garnett, Anderson F. Webber, Wallace, Thomas C. Cato, Pollard, Collier Man now that would be great. Lets see who else I can trade Thomas, Collier and Norris for oh lets say Darius Miles or Zo. I sure love this Fantasy basketball!!! ------------------
moochie: look at it this way.... is minnesota better off with kg and his huge contract, and no picks for the next five years OR are they better off trading him for a young, potential star with a friendly contract, along with freeing up oh let's see, $16,000,000, to use on free agents. AND, they still can use 2 or 3 of our draft picks next year. to me, they are better off - as a team - without him because of sterns reprimand. with him, they are stuck with the same team for the next five years. and aside from kg, not many players on minnesota are going to get much better over the next 5 years. they are stuck unless they move garnett. as for PR...fans come to see winners. and more fans would show up to see a winning t-wolves team than a kevin garnett-led "hopefully .500" team that bears little to no chance of getting better. normally, this would not be even a consideration, but when you : 1. take away a team's draft picks for five years and 2. they will be over the cap for that time (due to their best player) and 3. they were already a team in the middle of the pack (at best) the only way to get better as a franchise is to free up money. because no one else on that roster has any serious trade value, they are left with KG. could they try to ride it out? yea, and lose money from season ticket holders tired of watching the same act. even so, how long before garnett asks to leave for a chance to play somewhere his hands aren't tied and has a chance to improve and win? *********** Rocketman95: i wouldn't be surprised either. the only issue is trading hakeem. do you do it? i say in a new york second i would, and i think he would understand. and if not, it still makes business sense to do it. for both parties. hopefully, someone with some inside info can shed light on this.... ------------------ Essentially the top two players to come out of college the last couple of years are Duncan, Carter, and Francis. - vince

You guys are forgetting something. The T-wolves wouldn't trade him until next year & by then we wouldn't have Dream's contract to tempt them with. With the exception of Sealy, they have the same team with which to make one last run. With that said, according to Realgm.com, we could trade Dream/KT for Garnett straight up. We'd probably have to throw in some picks as well. Minnesota also gets a 2+ million dollar exception out of the deal. A good management team could do some serious retooling of their team with that kind of flexibility, unless they were Chicago. How's this roster? C: Cato/Collier PF: Taylor/Los/Bull SF: KG/Walt/Langhi SG: Anderson/Mobley PG: Francis/Moochie Unfortunately, as has already been posted, we would not be able to keep Taylor or Shandon because of the cap restrictions. But if we could. WOW! ------------------
