A lot of bandwagoners towards the end of season and playoffs didn't see the gaping holes in our system. Anyone who watched the Rockets all of last season knew getting to WCFs was purely fools gold. We don't have the personnel, heart, nor coach. Think about it. We NEEDED Josh Smith to bail us out the clippers series.

Those are two separate things. Basketball IQ is having the smarts to make proper quick decisions. Mental midgetry is about fortitude and discipline when the game gets tough. I think the latter is a skill that can be developed over time with proper coaching and experience. The former is a talent that the Rockets lack.

People severely overrated Jones and Howard. Jones has never been more than a role-player and Howard has declined a ton. People were still reacting to Howard's name-value, rather than his current on-court value.

Lawson should have been a good player, but he was totally mismatched with Harden in this offense. Ariza is a good role-player, not much more.

The talent this team had came down a star in Harden, a couple of good non-star players in Lawson and Howard and role-players, a few good, the rest mediocre to bad. And, on top of it, a system that really couldn't get the best out of Lawson and Howard.

This was never a super talented team, though it should have been (a bit) better than .500.

I agree it's time to blow it up. Get rid of Morey and the entire coaching staff. Let Howard go. Test the market to see what you can get in return for Harden, as well as every other player on the team. Harden is uncoachable, and he is better off as the #2 or #3 option like he was with the Thunder.

The current makeup and chemistry of this team is just absolutely atrocious. Hell there were signs of this LAST season despite going to the WCF. For years I never felt comfortable that the team's core would ever be good enough to compete for a title.

I've seen streetball pickup games that have looked a bit more organized and disciplined than the Rockets.

Get some mentally tough, high IQ players in here who actually care, and a coach that will actually command respect and demand effort.

Don't give up on this team.
There just going through a rough patch.
Nobody wants to face his team at home.
Playoff Smoove is something to be feared.
    This team will be fine.

    It wasn't fool's gold necessarily.

We actually thrived with playing off Harden's monster season, everything opened up around him because he drew so much attention. We also ran the ball so much better. We played with a lot of heart last year actually because McHale somehow made everyone care about the game and at least bust their asses on defense.

However we only knew how to play one way, and when the league got better job denying Harden we regressed to basically nothing. And without motivation and bad lockroom there was no hustle on defense either nor the confidence go for fast break baskets.

People claiming we're a talented team is the most frustrating thing ever. Warriors have players coming off the bench that would easily be starters on this team.

Forget the Warriors even the Clippers easily outmatch us in terms of talent. We don't have the coaching/defense to bridge that massive gap either.

Exactly. And that's why I'm so disappointed in Morey for deluding himself into thinking that this was a team to keep for. What a colossal mistake on his part.

What great players that won championships didn't have a hell of a team around them? Jordan's team won 55 games without him. The Warriors would probably be a 50 win team without Curry this year. You have to have a hell of a team to win a championship no matter who the star is.

He needs a better player than him to lead the team in his place instead.

nonsense, Melo can't even get you to the playoffs by himself.

Harden can at least sneak you into 8th.

Other than that yea. THe problem is on offense, neither does anything without the ball. SO if they're not touching it, pretty much 4 on 5. Well on the other end it also feels like 4 on 5 with those 2.

What are you basing this on? He led a team of role players to the second best record in the league last year. You throw Harden on the Warriors last year and they probably still win the title.

Nobody on the Rockets does anything without the ball on offense. It's the offense.

We have Harden to build around, that's about it. And even then we need a coach who can get him to put in the effort.
