Well, people complain about how Rafer doesn't make plays and just gives it to Tmac. Alot of the time Udrih doesn't even bring it up the court. I actually enjoying watching that Kings team this season for many reasons but he was not one of them. He'll probably get a fat contract from them this offseason because he played point for a slightly successful team. That team was almost as effective when they were playing freakin' Francisco Garcia at point guard. Sure he does some things better than Rafer but playmaking is not one of them. For their positions Rafer and Tmac are both poor finishers but that doesn't mean they aren't good playmakers. On that same note Udrih is a better slasher/finisher than Rafer but that doesn't mean he is a better playmaker.
i agree with #1. For #2, do you not like the Scolandry Hayes trio? Yes, we definitely need a backup center, but Scolandry Hayes at the 4, I think they're good. #3...I'd say we need to get all 3, sure, maybe #1 is more of a priority than the other 2, but the other 2 are definitely vital needs.
I definitely see the Scolandry Hayes trio as a solid rotation at the four for years to come. But the truth is, they aren't getting any taller...they're all under 6'9". And that really hurt us on the defensive boards against Utah. It would really help to have someone with length when matching up with taller and longer teams. Also, with Mutombo unable to continue playing the heavy minutes (or so I think ), it's a good time to find some youth and needed length. I actually thought Justin Williams could find a place on this team (an athletic player with length, can slide between the 4 and 5 spot, can block shots). If the Rockets can find someone that fits this mold, it would really add a new dimension to this team.
Udrih is probably the worst passer as starting PG in the entire league. We may be able to work with that though if T-Mac handles PG duties and Udrih just gives him the ball.
It took Scola half a year to get comfortable in how the NBA is different and really even more than that to gain the respect of the officials. If JVG would have stuck with V-Span as the backup PG all last year, and let him learn through his struggles, there is little doubt in my mind he would have had a Scola like impact at the end of last year. DD
Scola...or KillBill? That is the question. Or is the question: KillBill II, The Sequel? Just curious - a I the very only one who believes Juan Carlos would be an excellent Navarro on this Rox team? Hayes + Woods or Harris should effect a proper SnT; Griz D, Conley/Lowry etc...
agreed. vspan should be able to fit in AD's system. it was just a terrible timing for him. no offense, but JVG did terrible on that.
dear lord... can we not stop beating the dead horse that is Vspan? Seriously... euthanize him in your mind and stop thinking about what ifs.
You know he has an option to be bought out this year, and could come back to the NBA if he wants too.... If he does, would you not at least take a look? I mean V-Span under Rick Adelman is a very intriguing ring to it. A possible upgrade at a very valuable position like PG, with no trades or draft picks used.......I like it...it sounds good. At least to me. DD
The possibility is so remote that its not worth the time or effort to consider it. Do I think he would have fit in better with Adelman than JVG? probably. Do I think the Rockets will take another chance on him? probably not. I understand the excitement of the unknown, but he's more than likely not an option.
I hate to disagree (as if) but, hey - I disagree. Word has floated both that Spanoulis' family difficulties have been obviated and that he is open to a return to the NBA - and even the Rox. How factual this is is beyond my 'need to know', but it begs the question of total remote possibility - and gives great fodder to DD (which is always requisite). So, let's try this question: VSpan...or JCN? BTW - I vote JCN.
I think Vspan is a good player but his experience with the Rockets in NBA has been a nightmare and I consider this unfortunate. He has been under alot of unexpected family problems and stress as well as having a rough time with JVG during his time with Rockets, otherwise he may have been a better player. Given how the Rockets fans treated him when he refused to come back from Greece after the summer, I would be amazed if he would be a Houston Rockets again though I would like him to. To me, Beno and Calderon is fine, I would be happy if we can have either.
you know what's amazing about this world? that is "anything can happen". beware what you are wishing for.
Just curious: what would D'antoni 'give' to get Calderon in MSG? It ainta gonna happen there, and it ainta gonna happen here. Pay the price and you can have TJ (Bobby Jax would do it). There is .0000002 chance of getting Calderon. Look to Tennessee, look to JCN. Or if Fernandez refuses Nate Mac then send Battier to the PNW and get him (and Outlaw).
Do you really think that TJ can be had for cap relief in the form of BJax contract? I mean that is worth rolling the dice on....TJ is much better than Rafer... DD
