So I am hoping to help educate and become educated by my fellow CF members by building vocabulary from other languages.

Today I am going to teach you how to say Barbecue (BBQ) in Arabic.

    Mishowee

Mih Show (as in shower) Eee

    Mishowee

I look forward to learning different words from different languages on here from my fellow CFers

If you would like to share your own word(s) from a different language, please post!

    'key, done for today.
If there's a possibility of this thread getting really boring, it might have to do with having to wait for another day to see another word posted.

    Saudades.

    (sow-DAH-djees).

    Portuguese.

If you're Brazilian, you can't go four minutes without saying the word.

It's a mixture of nostalgia, longing, yearning, missing something/someone.

    Möpse

One of the meanings is a breed of dogs (pugs). For the other meaning, you may peruse Google image search.

(Der) "Hass" is German for "hate".

By chance hass is also the universal name of this delicious avocado breed:

So, we are in agreement that the American words have a more onomatopoeic quality like "Boobs".

It's actually pronounced Mashaawi rather than Mishowee if you're from anywhere between Egypt and Oman.
