Don't get me wrong, Tupac was great. Certainly better than the majority of the clowns being forced down our throat in present day. But one thing I have never quite understood is this prevalent assertion of his conveyance of some sort poignant socio-philosophical existentialist insight. his premise in 'brenday's got a baby' and 'wonder why they call you *****' that female promiscuity is the foremost factor in the degradation of society couldn't seem more hypocritical against the backdrop of the numerous tracks celebrating his own debauchery. just a thought.

the Nas and Jay Z beef was more entertaining.

I think rapper's material gets a significant drop off after they become too rich.

Will Snoop ever make anything like this anymore?

I heard the Blueprint 3 could be the album of the year for 2009. I will probably buy it.

As far as this battle. Jay-z said he was not dissing Game in one of his lyrics and for whatever reason Game took that as a diss. Game seems to be bipolar.

I do think Jay-Z is overrated. I think he sounds good but some of his lyrics seem r****ded to me. He's not much of a writer IMO but I think he has had some good songs thanks to his producers and his ability to make even crappy lyrics sound good.

The Game is a mystery to me. The guy is a second rate, one-dimensional rapper. I don't see what he does than almost every other rapper out there can do better. Had he been around during the days of the real gangster rap he would have been clowned out of the game if not murdered.

    So I'll take Jay-Z, FTW.

No one's mistaking Tupac for a scholar and he definitely wasn't a saint. He was a man, talented in showing reality (or atleast how he saw it) through rhymes. I wouldn't say he ever had a "premise".

I definitely agree with your Jay-Z take.

As for The Game, he was around and got shot multiple times during the golden-era (early 90's) of gangsta rap. That said, yeah he's a carbon copy.

I was mainly talking about the murder part. I don't think the murder rate is that much higher back then than it is now in the rap game.

And as far as Dre goes

But then again Game had a tongue ring and was on Change of Heart.

Game and Jay-Z both are boring, but Jay is obviously better.

No one even pays attention to Game, so he has to do whatever it takes to get attention. And what better way to get attention than to go at whoever is on top.
