So I went the other day to get some clothes from Banananannana Republic and that was fine, but then I stopped by Circuit City yesterday.

I paid virtually no attention this year to their ads, but the reason I went in was because I needed a new USB flash drive (my 128MB was finally full after never deleting anything and having it for 16 months).

So I go and find a great deal, and end up getting 2 of these:

$15 SanDisk 512MB Cruzer Micro USB flash drive

But then I continue to look around and find this:

    $20 I/O Magic DVD+/-R/RW

Yeah, I know the brand absolutely sucks, but c'mon, a DVD r/w for $20 after rebates? Definitely worth it. I haven't installed it and won't get around to it until the winter break, and since I have a laptop, I'm going to head over to NewEgg and get an external enclosure for $30-$40.

But then I started researching the product. Now, I've bought this same brand in a CD r/w when it came out so cheaply 3 or so years ago, and it has done its job -- not a spectacular product though.

However, after reading into this product, it sounds awful and some people even returned it due to the massive suckage. I don't know much about DVD r/w drives (I know this is BTC; someone care to explain?), but is it worth getting an external case for it or should I just install it back on my parents computer, even though they don't know **** about burning a CD.

I mean, as long as I get good software (I know of a few good ripping programs that work well, or even DVD Shrink), would it not matter?

    Thanks for info!

Bought the Attache PNY 1 GB Jumpdrive today at Best Buy for 20 bucks After Rebate. Took forever to find a place....Too bad Office Depot ran out of wireless sets or I'd get it for free AR.
