Tmac's career TS% in the playoffs. 51% Lebron's 57% Kobe's 54% much higher when he won championships Dirk 58% Wade 55% Manu's 58% Durant 59% Deron Williams 58% Do you see a trend here in the stats?
I don't know what's more idiotic. The fact you keep searching for absolutely meaningless statistics to try to prove your 'point'. Or the fact you legitimately believe they validate what you think. Let's just completely disregard all of those players individual scenarios shall we? Let's ignore Kobe was playing against defenses keyed against Shaq. Let's ignore Durant played against defenses also trying to stop Rus and Harden. Let's ignore that Manu was a 2nd or 3rd option on his teams instead of constantly being triple teamed. Let's ignore that Dirk is a pure shooting 7 footer. And compare his numbers to a guy double teamed beyond the 3 point line. Let's ignore the fact that LeBron is the greatest since Jordan.
Are you going to ignore the fact that his favorite shot is statistically the most inefficient shot in basketball, the 20 foot jumper? Are you going to ignore the fact that he also liked to take the 3 point heat check shot even though he was a below average 3 point shooter? Are you going to ignore the fact that he got pissed off at his coach RA, because RA would not let him take 10 plus shots to see if he could get it going after coming back from injury and was shooting 38 percent for the season? Are you going ignore the fact that he took 20-24 shots a game to get his points when he played in Houston and Orlando, while James Harden only averaged 17 shots last season? What Tmac fans refuse to admit is that he was top tier chucker only behind Allen Iverson and on par with Kobe Bryant. I'm not a fan of Kobe, but at least Kobe can shoot a little bit.
I'm dumbfounded at what this rebuttal is even trying to achieve? I don't care if he took inefficient shots. I don't care if he pissed off a coach. I don't care if he took heat checks. I don't care he took a lot of shots to score. You know why? BECAUSE HE WAS AN AMAZING PLAYER. If it was some bench scrub doing that then I'd have a problem. It seems like you think I claimed McGrady was an extremely efficient player. Sorry bro I'll recap for you - I never said that. So you wasted your time typing that nonsense. Since you want to mention James Harden (who I love by the way) If he can be 75% of the player Tracy McGrady was. He'll be bringing Championships to Houston. Think about that.
Near he end of Tmac's career here he turned into a jump shooter but regardless people tend to forget that as GREAT as JVG was as a DEFENSIVE minded coach, which one of JVG's former teams excelled in OFFENSE?? Not to mention most of Tmac's cast here in Houston when he was healthy was terrible. By the time Rick Adelman showed up the Tmac we once compared to Kobe (as nearly equals) was no more. His knees, back and worst off his mentality betrayed him. I still prefer Tmac/Yao >>>> Francis/Mobley/Yao. Watching Steve dribble the air out of the ball on countless possessions was too painful to watch. Now we're fortunate to have the Harden/Dwight combo. Heck if Parsons continues to develop his game and Lin starts to tuck that elbow in while he's shooting 3's we might have a team that can make some noise.
i meant heart. if he had 75% heart of hakeem. he could have 100% heart of mcgrady, but that is really 0% heart.
That is the result of playing with players like Ryan Bowen, Luther Head, Chuck Hayes, and the David Wesley's of the world. He came to Houston about 3/4's of what he was in Toronto and Orlando and we never could put other players around him. Battier was off and on, mostly off. When we finally got Scola, Yao started having foot issues. We road T-Mac as long as we could.
T-Mac was injured!!! I think it showed after he left Houston, he never recovered from the knee surgeries. Everyone kept saying he was faking the injury to block a trade but he was actually hurt. When he went to NY, he played good on occasions, same in ATL. If he was faking, as most of you said he was, surely by now he would have played better by now to sign another contract in the NBA, IF THAT'S WHAT HE WAS DOING!

Hakeem was injured many times in his career, even had a broken eye socket? has tmac ever had broken eye socket? Hakeem got that in the game, a cheap elbow by Bill Cartwright. Is there a special rule that if Tmac is hurt ? I want to know. If I get hurt, I'll go to the hospital and ask them for the TMAC wing, so I can get some special attention.
All I see (and the same thing Bill Worrell saw) was the highest paid player and supposed leader of the team, not living up to his billing. All I saw was Daryl Morey getting ready to call other GMs to see if they want this guy to clear some salary cap.
Actually that does put your thesis to rest. If he was 'quitting' or faking then he would have surly resurrected his career past houston right? Eye socket? Get out of here, this is where you lose credibility for everything you say. Micro-fracture surgery man.
Tmac said himself that he was fine. http://www.clutchfans.net/news/1510/t-mac_says_he_feels_back_to_old_self/ T-Mac says he feels back to old self McGrady knows fans are frustrated, but says his conditioning has returned TUESDAY, JANUARY 20, 2009 7:45 PM CST By Clutch Copyright 2009 ClutchFans.net T-Mac says he feels back to old self Tracy McGrady returned to practice with the Rockets on Tuesday, eyeing a possible return when the Rockets get out on the road late in the week. Afterwards, T-Mac was looking to win back a few fans. Local Channel 2 went to McGrady's home to talk with him and his trainer Wayne Hall, and both said T-Mac has made major strides during this recent stretch where has sat out. "The knee feels good," said McGrady. "I'm confident about it. That was something I was lacking. I tried to come back early and I didn't have the physical and mental aspect to go out there and compete against some of the best players in the world. It just didn't work out for me, but now I feel like I'm back."
Yes we know the tale. He obviously played the media and the team to save his ass. Doesn't mean he wasn't a beast
t-mac was voted to the rockets all-decade team of the 2000's. show some respect. the rockets organization can. why can't you?
