this is favorite Tmac excuse #1,
    his team wasn't as good.

Shaq improved the Magic record by 20 games in first season, Tmac improved it by 2 games. And Penny hardaway wasn't that big of factor.

Dennis Scott, Nick Anderson, where are they now? At least Juwan and Mike Miller are still playing respectfully.

here's my Shaq in Orlando for you Tmac in Orlando people

Actually Penny helped Shaq a lot in his 2nd season, I believe averaging around 18-20 PPG. If that isnt some sort of help, tell me if mcgrady had someone averaging 18-20 ppg with him..

Shaq just makes all his teammates better. He did it in Orlando, he did it in LA, and he did it in Miami. He just draws so much attention that everyone gets good looks at the basket. There's a reason why Penny, Kobe, and Wade didn't have much success after Shaq left.

I don't think Tracy fans are that bad, you're pushing it a little bit but I see what you're saying. But you can't doubt that Tracy was a great great player back in his prime which was with the magic. I don't think you could put him over Shaq myself, but I guess I can see how other people can just because
he was that great of a player. Even though I don't think a lot of people will say Tracy>Shaq maybe you will find just a few but thats it.

LOL at our despicable lack of talent we used to surround Yao and T-Mac with. Look at some of those guys we used on those last couple possessions: Andre Barrett, Reece Gaines, Scott Padgett, Rybo. All of out of the NBA right now. This just speaks volumes to the wealth of talent the Morey regime has been able to accumulate.

One more thing about that video. A lot of people complain about Tmac's demeanor on the court, but that is his personality. The demeanor people complain about is the same one he had in this video as he was going off. It doesn't mean he is not trying or that he doesn't care, he is just a laid back dude and does it in his own quiet way. It is the same demeanor he had when he led the league in scoring. He shoots, he scores he runs to the other end of the floor without being very expressive. No cojone spanking, no showboating. ;)

I cried after that game also. Whats your point.

I didn't have 29 points 13 assists and 3 blocks with my 7'5" center getting a massive 6 rebounds and only 1 block though.

hey mcgrady just needs to show up and play.

i don't think anyone doubts he is very talented and possibly one of the top 10 best in the game today when he shows up.

people don't like him because he seems not to care or work. we are beter with him no doubt if he wants to play.

guys with those names are problematic...mad max...tmac...ai...the list goes on and on

    McGrady fans at it again.

I'd be willing to bet there is not a person here who was a Rocket fan in the 80s or 90s (or before) who is still making excuses for McGrady. Why? Because they have seen winners and guys who put the team's success first. These fans have loyalty to the team and are not concerned who is getting stats or youtube clips. They have seen the real deal in Rockets red and can't be fooled into pulling for individual players over the team and especially not individual players who are pretenders.

Who cares what McGrady did in Orlando or the regular season for the Rockets or even what he did in some playoff games. If you think the stats get him off the hook for last year's playoff disappearing act he pulled in the 4th quarters then you really do need a huge, huge dose of testosterone and some NBA Classics.

I'm not sure why you same kids keep repeating "when he starts playing like the old Tmac again you'll be back on his side" BS. Tmac can do all the 13 in 35s he wants and it won't ever erase from my mind how he quit on the team in Toronto or how he missed part of the season for his secret personal problem yet he still showed up to jack up jumpers in the All Star game. If he wants to come back and he can fit in and help the team then good for him and the team but I save my admiration and respect for guys who earn it every game. McGrady isn't one of those guys and never will be.

Once you've seen the real thing you can never go back to rooting for fakes.

Ok not trying to defend T-Mac but what is up with this statement. Granted Penny got injured and so his nba career went down the toilet, but Kobe and Wade haven't had much success? That's a bold statement. Kobe and Wade were going to be great with or without Shaq.

They had as much success as Tmac after Shaq left.

Kobe only had success after they got Gasol along with the emergence of the other Lakers role players Bynum. Ariza, etc.

So you cheer for guys who earn it every game. So to earn your admiration a player needs to play hard 100% of the games. Would you compromise for a player who plays hard 99% of his games? What about 98%? What about 97%? What is your special formula?

My magic number is 95%, so by that criterion T-Mac qualifies to earn my admiration.

I think Tracy has made him lose his mind! or mine..

To bad, it seems like Tracy will always be remembered as the guy who score "13pts in 35 secs." and a former scoring champ who never had enough.

BTW, I was never impressed with his scoring titles for the worst team in the league. I didn't care much for him coming to Houston, but unfortunately Les didn't call me for my opinion. As a Houston Rockets fans "WE"(Rockets Fans) had to give him a pass, But he has proved Orlando to be "right" about him. He has been here long enough for us to see what he is really made of and IMO most fans are ready to move on. Either way it looks like he'll probably finish this year in a Rockets jersey, but it seems most wouldn't care if Les bought him a one way ticket out of town yesterday.
