I did. This just isn't what I've experienced. I've had rentals out past a week. I've gotten an automated phone call from Blockbuster telling me to have them in by X date or else they will bill my account.

I don't understand. Do people think they can hold on to movies/games forever now? Everytime I rent a movie at Blockbuster, the guy up front takes the time to explain the policy to me. And then, as I said, I got a reminder phone call.

Look...you know when you take it out that you may be charged a late fee if you hold it indefinitely. That part is made pretty clear if you check a movie out. You know that if you hold it too long, they'll charge you for the movie, itself. Of course, if you return it, they credit your account for the amount.

It just seems like the attorney general's office might have bigger fish to fry. Guess not.

    I fully agree with you.

It's just that they do not only get charged the extra $ 1.20, but the sale price, if I understood it correctly. Obviously, if you just keep something without giving it back, you SHOULD pay the sale price!

I think it is not the actual policy the AG has a problem with, but the deceptive slogan "no more late fees", which is not entirely correct.

yeah, that may be. they might have done better just saying they've extended the time you can keep a movie out. but at the same time, i think they do a fairly good job of explaining the policy...at least they do to me everytime i rent a movie.

I'm sure Netflix is breathing a sigh of relief this bad pub for Blockbuster.
