thi was BEFORE the allstar break.. thats ALOT of time between til the offseason DM will work his magic on him and he'd have a change of heart.. dont believe the hype of that article dude.. dont b a gullable fish pal
o child of little comprehension, do u not see wat we've been goin thru for the ENTIRE career with Yao? hes the poster for half man/half a season, i dont care if i ruffle ppls feathers but its the truth and deep down inside every1 knows im rite.. if we could get our new franchise player in Bosh-a guy u can count on ALL season- then we will be set
I can't figure out why some posters are so in love with Bosh, or even believe that he'll end up in Houston. There are alot of teams out there with cap space, and even better teams (than Houston) who also have more cap space and can offer more pieces.
I don't get your point, so why wouldn't he play here?? he is the final piece of the puzzle, we don't even need to build around him, the team is already build, and arguably the best bench in the league, one of the best coaches, the best GM, plus if he plays here he'll be the franchise player for the rockets....oh before I forget he isn't staying in Toronto.
The moment Yao is not the featured player of this team, is the moment interest is lost from Chinese fans/sponsors/media
Similar things could be said about a lot of other teams. The only possible way we could get him would be if he said to Toronto, "I only want to play in Houston. Send me there in a sign and trade, or I will leave for free agency and you will get nothing." Do you honestly think that's going to happen? If so, I have a bridge to sell you. If we have to compete with other teams in a trade situation, he will cost too much, and it won't be worth it, because we will have gutted the team for him.
Because it's a zero sum game... Bosh isn't just weighing Houston he has other options. If it was a case of asking Bosh to make a "1" or "2" choice: "playing in Houston" or "not playing" then obviously Bosh would say "play in Houston" since Houston has a good situation for him. But the reality is, there are a dozen cities making that same offer to him. He can't say "1" to every one of them. The question isn't whether Houston is a good place for him it's a question of is Houston better than everywhere else in America that he could go. There are other places that could offer him one or more of the following: a better chance at a championship, equal money, bigger name players, a better and more prestigious franchise and a better city. simply if he another option looks better to him.
That's not the only way. It starts with "I don't want to play HERE anymore. I'm leaving for free agency." That is when a SnT comes up, because they might not want to lose him for nothing. Teams will make their offer and if Houston makes a offer they will ask him if he's okay coming here. He doesn't have to specifically want to come here, he just has to want to get out and the Raptors have to think "Might as well see what we can get for him..."
Read my post, don't just skim over it. If that happens, he will cost too much. Morey isn't an idiot. He's not going to give up a package like Brooks, Scola, Hill, and a first-rounder to beat out other teams for Bosh... because that would be stupid. The only way his price would be reasonable would be if he told Toronto that we are his only option. He won't do that, and Morey won't gut the team to get him, so we are not getting Bosh. Deal with it.
Don't forget that Bosh's primary reason to agree to a SnT would be because we could PAY HIM MORE MONEY this way than if he simply up and left. Money talks in the NBA.
You're not listening. If he agrees to a SnT, we will not be the only team trying to trade for him. Getting him would require beating out other teams, which would mean gutting OUR team.
I don't want to lose Brooks at this point, I think we have the correct amount of firepower in our backcourt. Toronto wanted Ariza in the offseason. Hill/Ariza/Jeffries +2010 first round lottery pick+2012 first round pick (we have two that year) for Bosh. Yao/Hayes/DA Bosh/Scola Battier/Budinger Martin/Manu (Full MLE) Brooks/Lowry
No way that will get it done. Ariza? Ha, they may have wanted him in the off-season, but try that now and you're going to get laughed out of the room.
