You can definitely win a championship by surrounding one superstar (Yao) with a bunch of great near all-stars... and who is to say that one of the players/picks we give up wouldn't have turned into an all-star in the future?
Also, I will go on the record now and say that I think Kevin Martin is an all-star type scorer who has flown under the radar throughout his career. It will be criminal if he never makes the all-star team given that he is one of the most efficient scorers in the league and recently has become a high-volume scorer as well.
Wrong thread and you're contradicting your own signature. Except trading Yao is off the table. Whether you like it or not, he's staying here, and he will be expected to be the centerpiece of this team while is is. So best get over it now.
Last I checked,We have no chance of wining a ring without Yao so what do we got to lose.Last I checked,Bosh is not the Biggest MISMATCH IN NBA nobody can stop him one on one in the POST DOWN LOW .
He's just saying that he has a smart PR team, he has to say it cause he's Canada's ONLY bball player.
i agree. bosh knows he would like to play with lebron, yao, and wade. you can be be the franchise as well as play with other all stars also. thats just chris bosh's pride taking over in interviews. but maybe he really is a loyal player thats committed to staying in toronto, but who would want to go to toronto? and who's gonna take hedo?
Well said! You know the forum has kneejerked, when posters believe a Yao/Hill front cout is championship material and that Bosh is unneeded. Bosh would be #1 and Yao's role would be similiar to Robinison in the Spurs 1st championship. Hill/Yao will not carry us in the West with the big lineups that are encountered here.
Let me get this right Chicago is going to get Lebron or Bosh with their cap room The Clippers are going to get Lebron or Bosh with their cap room or via sign & trade, The Lakers are going to trade Bynum straight up for Bosh via sign & trade, Miami is going to trade Michael Beasley for Bsoh or sign him outright, New Jersey is going to get Lebron or Bosh with their cap room or via sign & trade, Sacremento are going to get Lebron or Bosh with their cap room or via sign & trade, Cleveland is going to resign Lebron, Toronto is going to resign Bosh And the New York is so sure that they're going to get Lebron AND Bosh that they gave Morey everything but the team logo to get T-Mac's expiring contract! Which assures that both players would have to give up 30 million dollars to go to the big apple! Why are they so sure because of the massive amount of endorsements available in New York. Nevermind that endorsement money IS NOT guaranteed, ASK TIGER who lost some of his because of marital issues[/U]!!! The bottom line is if you want Bosh....... GET IN LINE!!!!!!!!! THEREIS ONLY 1 BOSH & 1 LEBRON!!!
People love to read too much into a comment a player makes, and draw conclusions about what IS or IS NOT going to happen. I don't think we can rule out getting Bosh based on this comment.
The 93-94 Rockets were the last team who won a title with only one true superstar. Also, if you're overly optimistic and say Yao returns 100 %, stays healthy, and goes back to playing like his old self next year, he's still light years behind the Dream. Further, the only team, and an exception to the superstar rule, to win in the last 20 years was Detroit, but they had arguably the best defensive front court in recent memory and a guy with balls of steel in clutch moments in Billups.
