lol exactly. With this it seems more likely than anything. We don't have a clear cut Franchise player, Yao has a big '?' when it comes to that because of his health. Point is...YAO has one year left on his deal after this season. That's the franchise player or is it the guy that would come in here on a Max deal multiple year contract? Also to the guy telling me "I didn't know we had that kind of capspace." Ummm...where have you been? Sign and Trade.
If he want to be the man, he ought to go to NJ. Bosh and Brooks would i dominate together. Or maybe he can go the the Wizards. ANYONE can be a franchisep layer in that team (at the moment it's Andray Blatche.. how sad). Honestly, I doubt he comes here if he stays with that setiment that he should be the franchise player. However, also keep in mind that the ery same article mentions that Bosh can feel differently about things ona given day, and come offseason time, he may feel different about being a franchise player and may look for a ring. (with houston).
Last I checked, Yao has been injured 4 of the past 5 seasons. Last I checked, we have no idea if he will recover and to what degree he will recover. Last I checked no way is a healthy player making the max inferior to a player making the max but spending playoffs on the bench the last few years. And last I checked, this team isn't built around Yao because he's not even playing. Bosh will be commanding max money in the open market, while only a fool will extend a max contract to Yao Ming considering his injury history. Only a YOF will think Bosh will not be the centerpiece of this team if he signs here.
I saw the Bosh against the Lakers a couple of nights ago. He settled for a lot of jumpers. It was just one game, but Bosh was not impressive at all in that game.
The "hell, no!" part makes me smile a bit. I don't know about acquiring Bosh. Luis Scola would have to agree to a sign and trade. Then each team (unless a third gets involved, and that's even a longer shot) would have BYC complications with the contracts. I half-wonder if we should acquire a PF/C (Anthony Randolph or someone we actually draft) to groom for the next couple years. As Luis is ready to be the backup, the other guy steps forward. As far as "Bosh sucked tonight", he was out a few games recently and might not be at 100%. EDIT: Of course, we could always send Battier - Jeffries and a pick and Hill and blah blah blah but it's still a long shot.
The question is what does 'build around me' mean? Is Bosh enough better than Luis? On the court and synergistically? Clips have money, and some good players. Including #1 overall Blake Griffin. And very competent Chris Kamen. But, man, do they need to build something. So, there? Bulls have money, and some good players. Including #1 overall Rose. And very competent Joakim and Deng. But, man, do they need to build something finally post-Michael. So, there? Or yes to Knicks? Because they will have McG and Gallinari and a whole lotta need to build around anyone with a pulse? BTW - How do Mavs and Bosh fit? Miami, to me, seems 'predestined' for CB4.
Old news. If anything this means we have a great chance at him coming here with him becoming our main cog with Yao and he playing off the block togther. We obviously can NOT count on Yao for a full season at max or near max minutes, its just asking too much of the big guy. If Bosh came to Houston he'd be option numero uno, so this is a good thing for us.
Glad to hear Bosh wants to stay in with the Raptors. The Rockets should not do anything with the big FAs this summer. The team should just take care of their own FAs and build from there.
Good player, good guy. But, strictly low post, no D. A poor choice to pair with Yao IMHO. Love would be better. Neither is happening. A good fit if/when Scola is re-signed: JO'N. He'd be the 4/5 supersub, shot blocking, D - able fit.
why are so many people here so high on Bosh? do you really think he will come here and win us a Championship? yeah, he's a good player but to call him a franchise player is not appropriate. if he's really that good then why hasn't he won a Championship for Toronto? he's not a franchise player, just a good solid NBA player. it's simple Morey style, we will only pay him for what he's worth and if any chance we get him, it'll most probably be via S&T and Toronto will probably seek god players from our team, Lowry might be one of them. and when Bosh comes here, we will still be disappointed at first because it will take some time for him to get used to the system. look, Scola is only in his third season and the guy's a work horse, we should really keep our core players so that when Yao comes back healthy next season, we will play great ball and hopefully win a championship.
