No, he's right. I just used poor wording. As in no trade clause is the same as a penalty to me in basketball. I didn't even know Kobe had an actual one
Yes it is. You want a picture of his shoes in Rockets colors like I said. No problem, I'll even show his stiching and the lable that says sample. Check his shoes from thsi season, same model, just Raptors colors. I don't have a digital camera but I can send them to you though my phone or I can get somebody to take pics theirs and post them up here. I'll post two pairs of his shoes to show the difference.
KAS13, You're cracking me up, man. You're making it sound as if you have some kind of inside information or something and we're simply supposed to overlook your baseless and unsupported arguments because of it. BREAKING NEWS..... I heard reports KAS13 is a serial child molester and guess what?! If you try to challenge my "inside information" or the credibility of my "sources" I simply won't respond.
You don't have a digital camera (which you can purchase at Walgreens and throw away), but you have access to this kind of information? Why should I believe that? Hell, my kids have digital cameras.
Clutch, thanks for the post. I dont have inside info, but I DO believe that the Wolves tried to get something in terms of an asset out of us. I am sure Howard and Hayes' names were talked about. Hayes is cheap and productive and the Wolves have liked Howard for a while now. And I do believe the Rockets didn't want to break up the rotation. And I dont have a problem with that, and I like James. The deal probably started out from the "wolves side" as Sura+Howard for James+Griffin. And we said no. We countered with Sura+JL3 for James. And the wolves said "no" and then countered again with Sura+Hayes for James and we said no and that's probably where the talks stopped. We'll just wait until the offseason when the Wolves decide that they would rather cut salary than not and figure out they aren't going to get anything in terms of an asset back, but rather just cap savings.
he's a conceited jerk that I don't want the rockets to take any part of....I would even rather have Rafer then Mike James...the guy is a total Ahole...its hard for me to cheer for guys like that..especailly when i'm paying for season tickets and this guy doesn't give it 100%....
Exactly... you should never post about him, and by extension James. I have absolutely no motives for liking James over Rafer outside of what I see on the court and in the box. Whether I am right or wrong is totally up for discussion, but there are no other motives or influences. That's not the case with you. You can't say that the Rockets had zero interest in Mike James and wouldn't take him for free 10 hours before a Chronicle article comes out reporting that the Rockets are considering taking a bad contract in order to get James -- and now still say the same thing and expect to be taken seriously. That obviously was not correct. By saying now that the T-Wolves didn't expect anyone to take Griffin and were just trying to dump James straight up for an expiring/retired contract, cap filler (btw, who on the Rockets is considered "cap filler"?) and a second round pick, but the Rockets refused to part with the 55th pick in the draft, you're downplaying all the obvious signs of interest in order to say the same thing -- Houston doesn't want or see a need for Mike James. I'm not even pretending to know the details of the Rockets-Wolves conversations, but I don't think it takes a genius to say there was no reason for the Rockets to even entertain talks if a pick at the bottom of the second round was a dealbreaker (Sure, I can see JVG to CD: "God, you know I'd love to have Mike right now for our title run ... but that late second rounder could be another Novak or Spanoulis. Pass."). You're doing the same to downplay the Rockets summer interest. Van Gundy showed up at James' house the first minute of free agency negotiation, CD called his agent Bill Duffy, the Rockets drafted the biggest contract they could under the cap and they were devastated when he didn't sign. Exactly what "conditions" were there that suggest the Rockets really were not interested in Mike James? Not giving up the trade kicker (not a no-trade clause)? The Rockets said they don't give them out to anyone -- team policy. So if neither Yao nor T-Mac have one, what can you say about the Rockets organization's trust in them if you spin that fact in just the right way? Over and over and over you call this guy a "cancer" -- not only now, but when he was with the Rockets. You know, maybe I'm getting old and just don't like terms like "cancer" or "rape" being used in sports descriptions anymore, but in my experience with those who deal with cancer... once you get rid of it, you don't try to bring it back. Your emotional investment in this has taken you to the point where you are spinning and exaggerating information that is true, or worse -- saying things that aren't true. I've watched it for a while and been quiet, but it's gotten annoying because I know you have a personal motive that no one here knows about, and that's why I'm saying you should never, ever post about Rafer Alston or Mike James. (It's going to be very interesting to see what people write on this board if we trade for Mike James this summer.)
Just to expand, if would have been at best the 2008 2nd rounder that is the lesser of the Rockets/Hornets seconds. Our 07 is going to Milw to complete the first James deal and NO has the right to swap 08 2nds for the Snyder deal. The idea a conditional late 2nd, two years away, the most recent 2nd we could possibly offer, sunk the deal is just ludicrous. Now Minny could have required our 07 1st if we did not include Howard or Hayes--and I could buy us saying we were not willing to part with this summers 1st given James age and major drop off in performance this year relative to last. According to CD they never said "no" to the trade kicker. CD was caught off guard, checking the deal out/making some calls, but James agent/James annouced 15 minutes later he signed with Minny, before the Rockets even said "yes" or "no" to it. Oh, KAS is Rafer's gopher or something. It is all so much clearer now.
Argh. Why is it the most interesting things are always the things we never get to really hear about? I know, I know. 'None of my beeswax.' But still. Bummer.
Time to confess your special relationship with Rafer and gain a tiny bit of respectability back on this board KAS13. My guess -- ball washer.
Dude, don't be so harsh on yourself, just because you can't spell Every, does not mean you are an A-hole. Sheesh ! DD
LOL, KC! Seriously, I just don't buy what this guy is selling. Not with of that kind of excuse. (hell, if he hadn't mentioned it, I'm still not buying it) Even if he's a teenager without the bread to get one, he certainly could borrow one for his "evidence." This is a tempest in a teapot. The fact remains, James or no, that we don't have a backup point. I just hope it doesn't end up biting us in the ass come playoff time.
Horry? Cassell? and they both got their rings HERE. I am sure there are more players that have come through here, and found rings somewhere... for example, Pippen, if he returns. I'm sure there are others, but that's enough for this rebuttal.
Just say no to mike james... he had his chance to come here. I know many differ, but I would take a player with lesser skill with a better attitude before I'd give him a shot here... oh wait, we have alston already. Seriously though...
