That is in no way relevant to his natural born citizen status.

If he was born off base he was not born on US territory. He cannot be president.

It does show that from birth - McCain and his policies have been off base.

Gawd, you are having a bad day.

    From Wiki:
John McCain, who ran for the Republican party nomination in 2000 and is the presumptive Republican nominee in 2008, was born at the Coco Solo U.S. military base in the Panama Canal Zone to U.S. parents. Although the Panama Canal Zone was not considered to be part of the United States,[5] federal law states that "Any person born in the Canal Zone on or after February 26, 1904, and whether before or after the effective date of this chapter, whose father or mother or both at the time of the birth of such person was or is a citizen of the United States, is declared to be a citizen of the United States".[6] The law that conferred this status took effect on August 4, 1937, one year after John McCain was born — albeit with retrospective effect, resulting in McCain being declared a U.S. citizen from birth.

I just want to point out to everyone reading this thread, that I am taking on 4-5 posters AT ONE TIME and doing nothing but whipping everyone's t***.

Once again, it is proven that The_Conquistador has the strength, wisdom and virtue of 10 MEN.

Me too. I do not want to see a President in that type of situation regardless of party affiliation. It just isn't good for the country.

BTW...we can agree. Ain't the internet grand?

I know that the X-Files movie is coming out and all, but the conspiracy theory crap is a little much.

Actually you are pointing out a wild conspiracy theory that assumes that Sen. Obama is not an American. That isn't exactly the pride of even your local high school debate team.

I seriously doubt that the federal government would have allowed a candidate who is not eligible to get this far in the process.

Wrong. You have missed the point entirely. I'm not disputing whether he is an American. I'm disputing whether at any point in his life, he has held dual-citizenship status, or if he was at one time a Muslim.

Save your insults for situations when you understand all the moving pieces, friend.

Are you sure McCan't doesn't have dual citizenship as well?

Having dual citizenship does not disqualify one from running for President provided that they were a citizen of the US at birth. Being a Muslim does not disqualify you either. Since the beginning of this debate was regarding Obama's qualification to run for President, it seems that dual citizenship or his religious status is irrelevant.

Keep your eye on the ball, Georgie boy.

Refman, allow me to get you caught up.

When the guy can't come up with an actual birth certificate and the COLB that he posts could be a forgery, I'd say his possible dual citizenship raises questions. That's so obvious.

Keep it real. You are not keeping it real. In this country, in this era, it most certainly does. Why do you think Obama has fought the Muslim label so hard? Why did he dodge the Muslim group in Michigan, or direct the Muslims in his audience not to stand behind him (in view of the cameras)? Keep it real.

OK, with you caught up now, you ought to be able to meaningfully participate in the discussion.

Not legally. First you were talking about him being legally able to run for President. Now you are discussing whether he should be voted into office. Again...keep your eye on the ball.

Again...not legally. The debate was reagrding whether Obama can be PResident. Now you are discussing whether he should be President. Those are very different questions.

He is concerned about getting votes. That is a red herring in the context of this entire thread. Perhaps you should keep it real.

It is easy to tell somebody that they need to catch up whenever you change the entire nature of the debate when you start to lose.

Do I think Obama can be President? Yes. Do I think Obama should be President? No...but not for ANY of the reasons you have posted in this thread (or maybe any other thread either).
