I admit, I got a chuckle, but not at the misfortune of Gater's friend. I didn't get the impression that Baqui99 was being mean-spirited but I guess I would be put off by it if I were in Gater's shoes. I don't know why the Great Wall thing keeps coming up. That was an issue about why some things can be made fun of and others cannot. I don't want to open old wounds, but it wasn't as simple as laughing at the dead Chinese guy.
When I first saw the Great Wall biker jokes, I was more surprised that people were photo-shopping it and making light of it. After all...someone did die. But, it's the complete idiocy of what he did and knowing that there was a 99.99% chance he would die that more than likely gave people the impression that this guy was so brilliant he should be made light of with humor. What did he think he was going to do....land it? I wouldn't have made fun of him still but his idiocy left open the opportunity for many to make fun of him.
Take it easy my ass. What on earth is remotely humorous about someome losing the tools with which the put on the table and pay their rent? Are you that clueless about the feelings of others?
What would be funny is if they caught the guy that stole the equipment, and GATER's friend plus all of us on the BBS were allowed to beat him to a bloody pulp!
